The example is the first building (walls) from the export_descr_building.txt (EDB) file.Code:{ convert_to core_castle_building levels wooden_pallisade wooden_wall stone_wall large_stone_wall huge_stone_wall { wooden_pallisade city requires factions { northern_european, middle_eastern, eastern_european, greek, southern_european, } and event_counter governor_present 1 { convert_to 1 capability { recruit_pool "Jerusalem Sergeants" 1 0.05 1 0 requires factions { england, france, hre, spain, aragon, aragon, venice, sicily, milan, scotland, denmark, norway, portugal, poland, hungary, papal_states, } and hidden_resource aor_levant recruit_pool "Dismounted Jerusalem Knights" 1 0.05 1 0 requires factions { england, france, hre, spain, aragon, venice, sicily, milan, scotland, denmark, norway, portugal, poland, hungary, papal_states, } and hidden_resource aor_levant recruit_pool "Jerusalem Knights" 1 0.05 1 0 requires factions { england, france, hre, spain, aragon, venice, sicily, milan, scotland, denmark, norway, portugal, poland, hungary, papal_states, } and hidden_resource aor_levant wall_level 0 tower_level 1 free_upkeep bonus 4 law_bonus bonus 1 recruitment_slots 2 } material wooden construction 4 cost 2500 settlement_min village upgrades { wooden_wall } }
Red= building effects
Blue - building time and cost
That`s what I`m looking for, but I can`t find that file. I use the windows search, with any keywords "export" , ".txt" "building" etc. Also tried to search within the file ("a word or phrase in the file" ) a phrase from the text you posted. It won`t find such a file.
You have to unpack the game. Be sure you have 7-10GB of free hard drive space, then proceed to your Medieval II Total War/tools/unpacker folder and double click on unpack_all.bat. After that is done, go to your Medieval II Total War/data folder and you can open the export_descr_buildings file. If you want to get into some more advanced editing, then check out this simple guide to the file: http://medieval2.heavengames.com/m2t...de/index.shtml
EDIT: Be sure to open your Medieval II Total War/medieval2.preference.cfg file after unpacking. This file stores all of your settings for the game, like graphics options. Add the following lines to the end:
[io]
file_first = true
Then save and make the file read-only. This prevents the game from taking out those options when you next start it up.

Wow 7-10 GB !
I don`t have enough space and it wouldn`t be easy to free up.
Is there a way I can unpack\get only the files that I need?
(I have the teutonic only installed, if it matters) would it affect the old mtw or new mtk.
Yes, there is a way, though I can't remember how. It involves editing the batch file. Try and search around a bit.

Is it cmd I should use? I don`t remeber how to use it.
