Default copy to external hard drive

Though i would give this ago to save me reinstalling from scratch.
I have the game on a laptop
    Got a new pc
    External hard drive
transferred games folder from laptop to External Drive
    Plugged external drive into P.c.
Downloaded latest exrm and installed into external drive via the pc
Runs fine with no problems and i didn't need to install onto the pc

Yes, the only things that would not be on the external drive are registry settings, but you really only need those for uninstalling/patching. Well, and maybe the desktop shortcut, but I guess you could copy it to the drive, too.

The short cut went automatically to the desktop via the installer.
I was assuming that once loaded from the external drive the registry would then be up dated on the P.C.:hmmm:
Even if it isn't it still runs fine and i though this would be handy for others who might have the same set up.
Took about 15 mins to copy the games/rome folder which was 8GB to external instead of 2 hours reinstalling onto the PC from scratch
