Naval Invasions - how to?

I was wondering how you make factions MII use naval invasions, like Portugal and Sicily do in vanilla. I know in RTW you just add in a line saying "prefers naval invasions" into descr_strat but I've searched the MII descr_strat and I can't find anything similar, does anyone know how to do it?

NB: I have a little experience editing descr_strat for both games but nothing else, so simple explanations are very welcome

its the same but you add it in descr_sm_factions

I've done a search and the only descr_sm_factions files I can find are either in RTW or mod folders. Do I need to extract the game to get (like the descr_buildings file)? I haven't done this yet but I've still got plenty of harddrive so its an option.

i think u need to extract the game.

desc_sm_factions should be in the data folder. look for the faction, and there should be a line for prefers_naval_invasions or something like that, and just change it from no to yes. any nations with lots of water (england, sicily etc) should already have it as yes.

you have to unpack the game download patch 1.2 then you can unpack and edit descr_sm factions but it takes up alot of space i think like 3 gb

ur right, it effectively doubles the space taken up by M2TW. between that and some mods i've had my M2TW folder real 14 gigs before.
