Is anyone ever going to make a modern version of Shogun/Mongol Invasion?

I wonder if anyone is ever going to remake Shogun/Mongol Invasion with the Eras engine...

Such a great game, and with the excellent Viking Invasion II out now, I would love to see somebody (not me-lol-I PLAY mods, not MAKE them) breathe new life into the game that started it all for us.

You could also check out Ran No Jidai (re-make of SHogun on RTW's engine). A beta has been released, I believe.

I checked it out a year or so ago, and there wasn't a campaign map- just the battles. I don't do multi-player stuff, and I really enjoy campaigns.
BUT- they did a great job with the units.

Three Kingomds is maybe an option , but it isn't about China/Japan per-se , and i don't know if it's still alive ? It's also chinese i think

.. but that shouldn't be a problem , right ?

Thanks! I actually already tried 3K (the old .07 version of Sangou) and couldn't really get it working, so I figure I'll wait till they get the next version out and try again.
They have an English language patch, btw, but it's from the .04 version:hmmm:.

I LOVE how they did a complete conversion with cities an buildings and all.
