Graphic problem

Ok, I desperately need help.

I have been playing RTW and BI in the past with no problems at all, now I started again to play when discovered the world of modding and got this annoying problem.
I first played IBFD, RIO VII, IJ, and last week I installed EB 1.1 and it happened.
After some turns, when ended my turn, my screen turned red, a red light started flashing as if a red neon had been switched on: I actually could see the map, units, move my armies, star battles and do whatever I wanted but all in a red flashing light.
So i quitted and run the game again and again but unsuccesfully, then uninstalled and re-installed it many times, both RTW and BI, with or without patches but nothing changed: I was able to play the game but my screen was red light flashing.
I assumed it was a graphic card issue, thefore installed the latest drivers for my gpu but again unsuccesfully: I tested some other games I had installed but everything was ok with them.
Also, I had MTW2+Kingdoms installed and when I checked it, I found that it had the same problem, even if I hadn't been playing or even running it for months...
Then I tried a registry defrag, disc defrag, manually deleted all RTW and BI files from registry, had a virus scan, installed the latest directX release and tested it and everything was ok. Eventually, I reinstalled the old graphic card drivers and the new ones again but nothing worked.
Finally, my PC has AMD Athlon 64, 1.8 GHz, GeForce 6600GT x 2 ( SLI ), XP service pack 3.
Any ideas or suggestions ?

A red flashing screen eh did you over clock you rig by change for if I over clock my rig to much I usally dose the same thing but its green.

No Mathais, didn't change anything: just pressed the end turn while playing and then it started.

Hmm that is a odd one you might want to ask the guy at the basement to help you out. It might be the fact that you have two video cards maybe but I wounldnt think that would cause it? It sound more like a graphic card issue rather than a total war. Dose it happen to any other game?

No it's happening to RTW ( +BI ) and MTW2 ( + Kingdoms ) only, any other game is properly working.
Now, even more tricky: just uninstalled MTW2 and Kingdoms, manually cleaned the system registry and re-installed RTW.
Now I see also a green bar on the left and SL digits in the higher part of the screen..??
I will ask the CA people, maybe they can figure out what's happening.

I think it has to do with the fact your running duel video cards but i would ask CA about that for if it cant handle two then I too will be up the creek for I plane on haveing duel video cards.

I was playing RTW based mods with two GTX280s in SLI mode - I didn't experience any problems.

I was playing RTW and mods till last Friday with two card in SLI mode too, as always did in the past and never had any problem.
But after some playing some turns of EB 1.1 something happened.
Possibly must be some corrupted file or library somewhere, but really don't know how to get it.
However, I dropped an email to CA people, will keep you posted.

With nvidia it's necessary to uninstall the old drivers first, do a re-boot and then install the new ones. Maybe even another re-boot after the new drivers are installed.

Finally I found the problem: it was the SLI mode, don't know why.
I disabled it and the game was working, but if I activate it again, the problem happens.
It's absolutely strange to me as I had always palyed with the SLI mode until now..
