    Default Longbowmen

I'm playing as England and I'd like to know why I can't train longbowmen in the Early Era Campaign? Is their a certain date that they become trainable? I see some rebel longbowmen come up here and there and it's frustrating because Longbowmen kick ass and Archer Militia cannot suffice. The way I fight battles require long ranged units, and crossbowmen reload to slowly for me to use them to my full battle potential.
    Thank you for your help.

I see you pretty new to TWcenter? I assume so with TW/SS.

Longbowmen, like in vanilla (regular M2TW), need a building to be trained. I don't know what it is exactly since I don't usually play England.

That could be true, but I checked the building browser and it seems that even the later ranges cannot recruit longbowmen. I'm around the year 1150, do they come later in the game?

If you installed Real Recruitment you won't have them to something like 1225. See the submod forum for more info. If you did not install RR there is not a beginning date you only have a second tier archery building.

Are you playing with the mod stainless steel? If your are and your using Real Recruitment (historically accurate recruitment in terms of dates units become available, cost in relation to reality etc etc) then you will not be able to get them until about 1250 playing as England. If not, you will need a practice range in your castle in order to recruit them. Hope this helps.

What did you install when you installed SS?

If you installed RR, then you have to wait for the appropriate era. Longbowmen will be available after you get the warning of the Mongol invasion (around 1230, IIRC).

If you installed BGR, then additional requirements may need to be met to recruit them.

Edit: Sorry, was composing my reply at the time you responded you already had the answer.
