Unofficial Force Diplomacy MiniMod
Greetings fellow FATW fans,
With leave from Aradan, I've uploaded a small minimod for FATW. This is an unofficial mini mod and is in no way supported by the FATW team.
So please reserve your comments or questions to this thread.
The following from the readme.txt in the download..
------------------------
Notes on Force Diplomacy
------------------------
Force Diplomacy as it implies, allows the player to force any AI faction to accept
any diplomatic proposal made to them. Presuming of course it has the means to
carry out what is being forced on them. As an example of when the AI will turn
down a diplomatic offer even though the player is attempting to force it via
the script; Would be when the player is asking for money the AI currently does not
have in it's coffers. The AI could not very well agree to something it simply cannot
supply. Which should seem obvious enough to anyone.
Used in a sensible way with "house rules" of a sort....this mini-mod can help with
certain AI deficiencies, ie....not accepting diplomatic proposals that are clearly to
it's benefit, maintaining alliances, not knowing when it should sue for peace or
except cease fires, etc.... Clearly there is a benefit for those who like to play
long campaigns and roleplay them a bit.
---------------------
Activating the script
---------------------
Force Diplomacy runs via a show_me script. The player can access this by clicking
on the help button on the diplomacy scroll (question mark on the top right hand corner).
Then clicking on the "show me how button" when the advisor pops up to activate the script.
Once the the "show me how" button has been clicked and the script activated. Player now makes
diplomatic proposal that the AI will not refuse presuming it has the means to fulfill.
-------------------------
Installation Instructions * = Denotes comment at end.
-------------------------
1) Download and unpack file in place of your choosing.
There will be 2 folders labeled *Archive and Force Diplomacy.
2) Go into Force Diplomacy Folder.
3) Run Installer located in this folder. Point installer towards root directory of your FATW installation.
For example FATW is the name of my installation...So my root directory looks like this...
F:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\FATW.......yours may look something like this.....
C:\Program Files\ Activision or The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War BI
4) Finish running installer.
* = Archive folder contains an installer with original FATW files that the user can use to revert any changes
made by this unofficial mod. Just run the installer in the same fashion as above to revert back to your
original FATW installation.
Final Note:
This unofficial mini-mod is for the most current version of FATW ( BI Only )
-----------
Credits
-----------
Credit for the Force Diplomacy script in it's entirety belongs to DimeBagHo of XGM.
My only role was the relatively simple matter of implementing it within the FATW file structure.
The FATW team for their hard work, a faboulous modification and for leave to share this file with fellow
FATW fans who may be interested in it's use.

Re: Unofficial Force Diplomacy MiniMod
Thanks for this! It doesn't stop the AI from being a bi-polar loony but it does help to quell its inner deamons.
