I think they refer to Negroes as some kind of wild tribes living in Africa, and i believe the same thing we/they still do with surviving wild tribes in Amazon(?) and other places and they aren't trying to be racists...
I believe the name is what confuse us.

As for if today modern racists express/have opinion like that for certain groups of people, is something different and condemnable.

I suppose from a European perspective back then, that was how they saw 'uncivilized' peoples. They didn't think much better of Australian aboriginals, or SE Asians for that matter, even though the latter were advanced people in many regions, and had been for much longer than Europeans.

But I always feel more advanced a person when I can use the defroster in my friend's car and he can't. I also feel more advanced a being when I have an iPod and others don't.

Weren't the whites a minority before? Think long back in the days of Mesopotamia and after all the other empires following.

This might probably sounds strange to some but..
that the Earth climate change largely controls where civilizations rise and fall, based on migrations of people and what is given by the nature at a particular location. It also corresponds with your physical build up and the lifestyle. I beleive the shifting Ice and the Ice age as well as other places becoming deserts or sink underwater etc..will dictate (or dictated) where and how civilization risen (or fell).

I disagree. Ethnic cleansing on the scale we are talking about only occurs when power differencials and socio-economical differentials are huge. If there's no point assimilating a native population (because it is small and nomadic, for example) then killing or displacing them makes sense, provided you have the strength to do it. Most 'civilisations' (an awfully vague term) have never encountered such a situation. The other type of ethnic cleansing is when two groups allready living together are competing for something, and can't resolve their differences. This is a very different situation to that of the European expansions.
