    Default Priest Piety Bug ?

    Hello there, can some one please explain why my priests dont gain any piety athought they did convert an Islam land to 78% Catholic and 15% Islam ? That land is from the Moor, it's located at the most left side of Africa. I gather all my priest to that land so that the convert rate may be faster.

    Actually my priest's piety only rises after they are promotted, other than that I have to let my priest hunt down hereschy to rise their piety to 5, only enough to be promotted. I have only 3 promotted priest now and nearly 10 or more priest with only 1,2 piety

    How can no one answer me at all ? I thought my problem is quite common to the community. Does it turn out that no one has ever encountered the same situation ?

    Maybe because the question, as you portrayed it, is a bit confusing?

    If I understood correctly, your problem is that a priest who has converted much of that Islamic province, hasn't gained any more piety... Does this happen only with one priest, or is it a general phenomenon?

    If it happens constantly, it would mean that something is wrong. I have never experienced anything like that, so if it happens, it might have something to do with your installation? Are you using any mods, or add-ons?

    Again, it is normal if one priest does not get a piety upgrade...

    Oh sorry if i had made my post confusing. My native language isn't English, you know . In that case I would explain the situation more clearly

    I read that priest would gain piety as they convert provice's religion to Catholic.

    I move all my priests to the Moor's capital provice, hope that they would speed up the process

    They did convert the land to 70+% Catholic, but none of them gain extra piety as the urr... convertation ?? ... is done

    Within the time I waitted for your answer, I play a few more turn, and gain an Theologian guild. I also moved my priest to the next land as the Catholic rate do not rise any higher. Suddently after that my priest started to gain piety o_O wtf ???? I play the vanilla version and no mod, no M2TW kingdom either.

    So my current question is:

    Do we need the theologian guild to help priest gain piety ?

    Does priest need to be as close as possible to the holy land-Jerusalem to gain piety ?

    Does priest actually gain piety as they move across the Islam/Othordox land or by standing and converting at one land only ?

    Thank you for reading

    I think it works something like this:

    The amount of % converted to catholicism is converted to Piety. This means that the more priest converting a province = the mor the Piety is spread out. Using 1 priest to convert the province would take much longer, but gain the priest much more piety.

    Hmm I am not sure on this. I have played the game a few times,but I admit I did not check on all my priests. I was wondering then if there is a trigger for this in desc.export.traits to help? So I found this for some idea. You need good Piety creating traits,such as "StrongFaith". I think this is what triggers the trait. There are others.

    and ReligionShift >= 8
    and TimeInRegion < 3
    and Trait StrongFaith < 1

    Affects StrongFaith 1 Chance 100

    ;------------------------------------------
    Trigger agents37_conversion2
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd

    Condition not AtSea
    and AgentType = priest
    and ReligionShift >= 10
    and TimeInRegion < 5
    and Trait StrongFaith = 1

    Affects StrongFaith 1 Chance 50

    ;------------------------------------------
    Trigger agents37_conversion3
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd

    Condition not AtSea
    and AgentType = priest
    and ReligionShift >= 10
    and TimeInRegion < 5
    and Trait StrongFaith = 2

    Affects StrongFaith 1 Chance 50
