    Default Authority

What exactly does authority do? Does it have any relationship with the loyalty of ones generals?
"we're way way pre-alpha and what that means is there is loads of features not just in terms of the graphics but also in terms of the combat and animations that actually aren't in the game yet.So the final game is actually gonna look way way better than this!” - James Russell, CA
Just like the elephant animation, this Carthage scenario is actually in the game, it just has a small percantage factor for showing up, that's all...

Yes. Low Authority + Low Loyalty = Rebel Generals.

Authority is what keeps low loyalty Generals/Family Members in line. As said earlier, having a low authority score make it much more likely that low loyalty people will rebel. It isn't hard to get authority. Dread traits often come with authority bonuses as well. Plus the faction leader can get the political traits that improve authority.

Bribe attempt/diplomacy = authority via political skill, so whenever you get a new faction leader bribe/start diplomacy a lot.

I tend to send my faction heir on extensive military campaigns as soon as he is done with school (I don't use BGR) and by the time his old man bites it he's usually a 7~10star 10 authority King. This is achieved through "The Conqueror" title and "Scarred" line of traits, along with "renowned victor"

No, but too many stars would make your game ridiculously easy IMO. To give you a fair fight the ai needs many more stars than a human unless you are a novice, so bgr boosts the ai and only your War Council would be likely to reach that amount of stars, unless you are playing badly or are a small faction, then it gvies non WCs more stars.

Good way is to use assassins, whether they fail or not you get a lot of authority and dread on your faction leader, I did that once and had a completely useless faction elader then when I looked again he was max star on dread and authority and about 7 on piety. Then I used him to hunt rebels alone and he routed enemy so quickly he got 6 star after rebel hunts.
