The clones in SW had emotions.
SW is always right.
Clones have souls!![]()

let's be serious here:
say u clone urself.
does that clone have a soul?
well then it comes down to the question. how is a soul made, what is a soul, and what is it used for.
edit:yea sry thanatos, i only read a few first posts (read whole thing now)
now if we do actively clone people i can immediately tell you 'normal' humans will develop a form of racism to the clones for not being 'natural' and will be treated as/used as a lesser being then the normal sentient it derived from
You look great today.
I wouldnt clone a loved one to replace him, because he wouldnt be the same person, he would just be a different person who happens to have the same dna.
But still, if i found out that a person i loved was cloned, i wouldnt regard the clone as non human or subhuman or something like that.
I am betting the only one with a soul there is Dolly.
A cloned human being is just a normal human being. Your clone is for all all intents and purposes your brother/sister. Of course as you are presumably religious, you would probably call it 'soulless' because it was created by artificial means, thereby contradicting the rest of the bible, but there you go.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.
A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."
More importantly, do souls actually exist?
Well, what you should be asking is if souls exist at all. Nothing has been proved, so making such a thread is a bit pointless.
But, if we suppose that all living beings have souls, it shouldn't be any different with clones. A clone is an exact genetic copy of a being, so if succesful, it should be exactly like the original, in all aspects. In theory of course....
perhaps i shouuld clarify:
having clones kinda takes away what makes us all genetically unique from each other. would u view a clone as being something less than the original, the way a copy of a priceless artifact is always a copy and never the original?

Obviously a clone wouldnt be the same person, but there's no reason to think that he's any less of a person.
I think a human would have to be a very very dull person, if the only way he can assure himself of his individuality is by being genetically unique.
In truth your question is correctly formulated and intelligent, but not many would think so. The existence of twins though, obviously makes it so that identical genes doesn't mean identical "soul".
The rest of the question lies in what you mean with soul.
