    Icon14 Easy Money and Territory

Hi, I'm new here. Just thought I'd share a strategy I've been using for awhile. You guys have probably used it but I dunno, here it is. At some point or another you'll end up going on a crusade to Cairo, so you make your army, yatta yatta yatta and you end up on the beach near Alexandria. Capture Alexandria, then take all of your soldiers and capture Cairo, if you have enough move points. After you accomplish your goal for the Crusade, you'll get money, but that's not the main thing. After you have both Alexandria and Cairo, sell them for a pretty good amount of money or good money and trade for a piece of land to a faction that you share borders with. Like if you're England, trade with France. After they buy it, this isn't full proven but it works usually for me, after a few turns Cairo and Alexandria will revolt, and they'll become rebel settlements. The nation you border will be down a lot of money, or down a territory, while you gain territory. Do this over and over and eventually they'll only own like 2 or 3 territories, and nothing in the middle east, because they'll keep revolting. Easy way to get a lot of money or to beat your neighbors with diplomacy and not war!

First -- welcome to the forum.

What you say can work wonders, but it is not my style of game play. More of a role player and I self constrain myself to what the particpants would or could do. The AI is just too easy to confuse with waving florins and settlements around.

I think it is enough to send the army free of upkeep, take the objective (one of the few times that I sack a settlement), and return home in glory. I leave a small garrison and get a diplomatic ceasefire.

Good thing with the game is that we can each play our own preferences!

Ya, having a mixture of both works best! Keep everyone hating one nation and then when they are financially crippled you send you own army in to 'liberate' the oppressed people.

Best way of doing things, good money, good rep, good land... what more could you as for when you take over countries and everyone loves you for it?

When i go on the crusade i go through constantinople sack it and destroy all the buildings there.. then it will revolt.. i do that all the way down to the crusading objective. i get loads of cash and if i decide to expand in the area the factions surrounding me are weak from my razing.
