Alexander annoying problem.

Everything was fine in RTW with smooth scrolling/movement of the camera ON the battlefield not in the campaign map of course , but hey have to it up! My problem is when i double click on unit the camera moves but it's very slow and if i move the camera it stops moving to the unit. Very annoying if i want to micro manage my troops in a big battle. The camera options don't solve this problem.

Maybe your comp cannot handle so many troops at once and thus slows down.
What unit size are you using, and how many units in the battle?

It probably has to do with your computer. It must not be good enough to handle the details and unit scales you have set. Try to play with a lower detail level, and a smaller unit scale. Or just get a new pc.

NO! It has to do simply with Alexander the add-on guys. My cpu is slow it's true but on lower settings where i can play 3 times even faster the moving of the camera simply stops when i click on the field twice somewhere the camera automatically pans/moves there. But if i want to speed it up the camera simply stops. Haven't you've noticed it? I mean you can move the camera faster only if manually or double click on the minimap and this is annoying. I know it is simply one minor problem but why did they make it like this in the expansion? If it had to do with my comp i would know it .

No, I have never experienced such a problem when running this expansion... So, it is either your pc, or that something hasn't installed right. Unless you're trying to say that the game is flawed, or that this is a bug. If there was a bug like that indeed, more people would have noticed it.

it must be the alx's settings different than the vanilla and bi. try editing the preferences.txt. hope it helps

mods have their own preferences.txt. and after I rechecked I can't do anything about alx's strange camera. sorry.

focusing the camera to one unit is always too slow or too fast (when I want to look around). And it never puts itself in the correct position you want.... Don't use it!

i have experienced this problem too...playing mods with the bi.exe by double-clicking on a unit icon and then moving the mouse a little bit, the camera goes immediately on that unit. using the alex.exe and doing the same operations, the camera goes where it wants!
