    Default help with unit balancing

i'm making a alex mini mod and its clear that the phalanx kill rates are over the top. would it be better to lower the lethality parameter or just increase defence around board?

It'd be better to nerf phalanxes than buff everything, as that runs a far greater risk of unbalancing the whole game.

The galleys passed upon the sea, the soldiers laid down their arms, cities were rebuilt and peace was everywhere welcomed. The supine giant was unconscious, but not dead. Slowly he began to raise himself upon his elbows."

Just lower the stats of the phalanxes. Increasing the stats of all other units will make it worse. It would also take some time, so the first option is the best, quicker and easier to implement.

i tryed just reducung your main attack while increasing there mass. so now they do push back most enemy lines but they don't mow them down. far more accurate them being more defense then offensive like tw made them. thanks for your help

Thats exactly what I would have done, phalangites weren't killer troops, but were mainly there to push the enemy back with mass and hold them in place. Maybe lower lethality if you have more problems?
