Do the Mongols have unlimited funds?

Well, I play with the Byzantine Empire and I am currently fighting the Mongols
I have conquered Hungary and Poland, and I control a big part of east Europe
But this is where my problems start, after having a Jihad called against Constantinople, The Mongols, (helped by an huge Egyptian army) conquered it, but luckily I managed to reclain the city. But what the ^%&# is going on with the Mongols? They "breed" armies like rabbits, I can't manage to hold them of at all. When I recruit big armies and finally manage to get some wins, more them come almost instantly. Will they always be that strong? I really can't keep up, the attack from all sides and with H-U-G-E armies.


can some1 help me plz?

once they settle in settlemenets there money should fall rapidally, they definately dont have unlimited funds, but if they have the money in some places you can build up to 5 units, so a big army can be made very fast...

A lot of the Mongol units have no upkeep. All the units they start with are without upkeep. Who needs then money???

I believe that the stacks spawn in waves and if I recall theres around 3 waves where the units get stronger each time. Once you've dealt with the spawned stacks they'll then have to recruit soldiers from cities and castles.

I had that happen with the Timurids, they spanwed like 8 stacks right by Baghdad( I was the turks) and their armies were the best units, with the Highest upgrades and Experience, which is kind of Overpowered if I do say so myself :|

Thanks guys I am relieved now. I lost a couple of areas, but I start winning the battles now, I think that their superioty is almost over(poor Russia)
I also notice that they leave a small amount of soldiers in their cities

Yea But first you have to deal with the huge 8 armies they spawn with, so they prety much rain terror with those for a few decades D:

I agree but what I usually due is simple but I due this with only factions that as archers that can lay pikes so (ENGLAND AND THE TURKS I take Antioch, gather a my best archers that can lay stakes.

The Mongols usually are aiming at the player and Antioch so each time I've played, I've battle them their and Killed 4 of their 8 full stacks with only loosing 100 men.

I place stakes in front of the gate and in the road going to my city center then I wait for them.

Lol. Well when i was battle the Timurids(curse them) at this castle that was in Poland* I dont remember the name but it was my front line) I only hhad a handful of man, about half a stack, but they were all Vetrens and it was a "Full stack" but it was an army thats seen alot of action so they lost alot of men, anyways. It wa sbefore I put the Expansion on, which updates medival2... and I was in a citadel which they had a glitch with where they only go pas the second walls, lol, so I just sat ther with my men on the walls, let it sit there for 2 hours... and the Towers took out all of the 1200 Soldiers(I had the unit scale on normal), I hate those damn elephants, they give them 20!!! to a squad, its not fing right, they are too over powered :{

The reason I've won eaely againts the Mongols is because of the stakes, it killed all of their cavalery

I used stakes against england and the scotss int eh Britannia Campaign when I was wales* it was the best strat ill talk abotu it in a sec) but i always thought that theyd Break or the horses would eventually Jump over them or something lol

OH dude you could make a square of stakes hahaa, thatd be awsome, but anyways

so waht I would do was put the Saethwyr or whatever they were called up int he front, then set all their stakes, and then I would have some spearmen behing them and as the soldiers fromthe other team came My archers would pretty much demolish about a quarter of them, and then as they charged the archers and the archers ran back behind my spearmen, my spearmen would charge them, and its pretty much an "Instant enemy Route" and.. i win lol... and I would have horses on the left or right if they had arty to take it out on a kamakaze run lol.... or to stop their horses from flanking me, Worked every friggin time, even when Iw as out numbered 5:1

Mongols do have huge amounts of funds even thougth they don't hang in the cities and develop trade at all.
