2 armies of 4000 powerful units each at the beginning to deal with when playing romans. i have no idea how to defeat them because they always win. i need all my legions to have a fighting chance against them but that leaves northern italy open to massacre by the gauls. should i leave the 3 towns there and just concentrate on killing hannibal and leave purple rome to deal with the gauls?

can someone please help me defeat hanibal?

it is possible to defeat hannibal and his brother with the 2 legions in south italie.

check my first link for useful links. there is a guide on how to defeat hannibal.

some tips :

use your velites to kill the elephants turn of there skirmish and fire at will mode so you can command them to only fire at the elephants.
put fire at will mode on for hastati and principes so thy make more victims before thy need to fight hand to hand combat.
search this forum for threads like this becous this question is qskt meny times before.

yeah indeed, check the links

and just start your campaign over some times

you'll get used to it

then become better, and then kill them all with one legion

Oh I was so close when i started my last campaign. Quintus defeated Hannibal and then theophanes attacked and it litterally got down to under a hundred men total slugging it out. I think i had like 20 velites and about 20 princepes against 60ish poeni infantry. It was so close! But I lost...
