    Default Baktria Timeline revamp

I am playing a TE Gold campiagn with Baktria, albeit Lusted has been kidnaped by the Amazons in Hyperboria it seems and taken to "Campus Assemblius". So I do not know when I can hear from him again?

:hmmm:I am writing an AAR and story for it,but I found the timeline does not fit(Year given is 280BC),which means Baktria and Parthian independance are not in yet(correct me if I am wrong),but he has them in the game as independants(diff from XGM). So how would I alter the timeline to allow me a credible, albeit changed history,so i can write my story???? Baktria and Parthia are Selucid satrapies then,Arsases takes over Parthia with the Parni later and Baktria declares independance in about 255BC. Diodotus was offered marriage to one of Seleucus II's sisters in 246BC. Alexander's wife Roxanne was Baktrian so I am trying to use a tie in to the new discovery of her tomb(her and Alexander IV were assassinated) with my Baktrian campaign.

Anyone have any ideas?????? Or how to alter the 'independant' states to satrapies and have a 'marian reform',ie independance later??? EB has this notion.

I am not really sure about what you are trying to say. All the factions are not historically accurate, as the modder had to come to a settlement in order to include all of them. And there is a limit on how many factions you can create, so creating the satrapies as separate factions is not a viable option. This seems more like a modding question, and there is a big and complicated process that needs to be done, if you are to add new factions. If you want to learn how to do that, you might have better luck asking in one of the sections of the Mod Workshop.

Anyway, my advice would be not to care so much about minor historical inaccuracies, and continue writing your AAR.

I know the Greek-Baktrian Kingdom is historic, just the timeline for campaign start does not match its existance as an Independant Kingdom, and to write a story I had to find some credible timeframe to match? I think I found a solution anyway now. I know about the adding a new culture difficulty,it is too much for me,so easier to play a mod like XGM or EB than create my own ...

Writing a straight battle type AAR is a chore at times, but to write a story far out...I have to try and learn greek history and culture OMG.. I am trying...please look at my update.

Well, some historical inaccuracies had to be made with the starting positions and the factions, in order to fit all of them in a specific timeframe.

When writing an AAR, you shouldn't care that much about historical accuracy... A good story does not have anything to do with complete historical accuracy... You do not even need to say anything about satrapies, or anything like that. Just have some kind of a story about the family members, and try to portray the battles and the events of the game in an interesting way. You can take a historical approach, or even a comical one when describing events. Take a look at other AAR's, and you'll see what I mean.

If you want to represent yourself as still being part of TSE until 255, just ally with them and don't expand until you break off and attack them.Maybe take one other settlement so you don't go bankrupt, though. No mod can really represent them fully accurately, since they appear far after the game start, even EB has them as an independent faction at game start, but reduces them to 1 settlement. I don't know the diplomatic status in EB, but I doubt they start at war with TSE, probably allied to reflect satrapy status.

Appreciated the input. I have changed the independance start dates for both Parthia and Baktria(neighbours). It seems to be best solution I can think off,it is semi proportional. Financially I manage to do well, even on Hard/VH settings(your income, trade, farming etc is reduced to .89 I hear). I have ROP, EB and XGM with Baktria, but I am using TE Gold for now as i had that first..will use the others later when finishing this campaign. My AAR...not perfect is here.

    #Historical revision:
Baktrian Independance(255 to 291),and Parthian Independance(245 to 281), with Arcases (historical 238)and Parni invasion controlling Seleucid Satrap.
