    Default Colin Powell News

Does Colin Powell's choice to go over to Barack Obama's side sway any on there current choice of Mcain/Palin.

Also how much more does Mcain/Palin side need to mess up, before u would choose to vote differently.

The simple question, is Barack Obama really so bad that u would risk the chance that Palin could end up as president, everyones thoughts on this welcome, thank you.

Which is weak, and only about Powell, I'm asking about Powell and what people think as a whole, on how things stand.

I don't like Palin, but she is more experienced than Obama.

Just quick question can u actually give a shred of evidence that she is in fact more experienced, cause i can in fact give much more than what i already posted, that she doesn't have the slightest clue what she's doing.

he hasn't finished a single term on any political office. 10-14 months at tops in the senete. feeding bull to get elected is one thing. but filling one the most impotent positions in our government is another thing

Technically speaking, the office of governor of a state is like the President of the country....and considered an "executive" position. Obama is a Senator of course, and that is considered "legislative". So technically, well, in fact, she is correct in saying she has more "executive" experience.

But the issue of experience was trumped long ago by judgement among the Presidential candidates. McCain still proclaims the great VP pick he has made (what else can he say?), whereas hardly a day goes by that provides evidence the pick was an example of very poor judgement.

Let's take it as read, for argument's sake, that she has more experience. She's demonstrated no aptitude for foreign policy or economic policy at all. Indeed, her responses have been so embarrassing in that regard that, if nothing else, she is incompetent.

General Powell is a very respected general and an OK Secretary of State. His endorsment will have no real effect on the electorate. The key for Sen. Obama is to simply get turnout. First time voters are about 11% of the electorate. I am not certain on the % for blacks and how much overlap with first time voters. These two blocks are the key -- if the turnout in jey states is higher than Kerry and Gore elections -- then Sen. Obama will become President Obama. If these blocks do not turnout in significantly improved numbers, it will be President McCain.

The problem is simply less persuasion to choose than it is persuasion to show up and vote. This is where the spread of mail-in balloting and early voting will be helpful. Those that do not show up early will be contacted and they will be pushed to get out and vote. When voting was a one day affair, it was difficult to nail down each and every targeted voter. It is much easier with more time.

The huge cash reserves will be used to pay people to track these voters down and transport them to the polls. This is where the Obama cash advantage will really pay off -- not the media buys --- it is boots on the ground.

Obama has been in public service for more than 12 years, he also has a harvard law degree. Obama was in state senate prior to joining congress. Hes also much more informed than Palin. Would you rather have someone whos only been the mayor of a town of 9000 people and then governor of a very small state to be next in line for the most important position in our government?
