Default Only the first line of the unit attacks phenomena

As the title says, I wanna talk about the instance when only the first line of the unit runs to attack, and it requires you to double tap attack AGAIN to get them all to attack. How can I recreate this? Since this could be used quite nicely, you don't wanna send your whole unit for a fight, but you do want to reinforce the guys allready in battle

I think it's just a glitch in the M2TW engine, for some reason only the first row attacks, sometimes it's only 3 or 4 soldiers. I don't think double clicking again helps, they will eventually all join in, it just takes some time.

I'm gonna be testingin some custom battles, see if I can replicate the exact moment when it happens.

Some things that help fix this:
-reduce charge distance to 5 or 6
-reduce distance between ranks to zero in formation line in EDU
-change 'shuffle backward' animations to 'shuffle forward' animations in skeleton.txt file, and recompile animations.

Just double click behind the enemy and they all rush in.

.... I don't want to them all to attack, I want to to recreate it for use, attacking with just the first line.

i still don't get why you would want to only get the first rank involved. it ties up a full unit but you only get 10 men fighting. would it not be better to have a smaller more powerful unit help out.

The benefits of only getting the first rank involved is that only 10 or so men will be fighting, but as they die they will get reinforced by the men not fighting. If you have the whole unit rush in there may end up being soldiers who charge way to far in and get slaughtered.

I don't think this is necessarily a glitch; it could represent a lack of discipline on the part of those charging or faltering courage on the part of those staying behind. I know sometimes less disciplined units with good morale will sometimes do this without my orders.

This theory could be true, as it usually happens to me when I use peasants/militia/weaker soldiers
