Will there be new updates in future?

Hey guys,

I was here quite some time ago. Magister Equitum probably remembers me....RedFox too I think. I downloaded this game not so long ago. I started out with Ptolemaics, but there were a lot of CTD's throughout the game. I got pretty annoyed cuz it happened really a lot.
But I also remember I really liked the game, the map looked very cool...and so were the new factions and units. I felt more attracted to this submod then original XGM itself.

I would love to try this game again, but I was wondering if there's gonna be new updates in future? Maybe some bug-fix update?
RedFox, maybe u can tell if ur already working on some of it?

Well, I now got three options.
1) I wait for the update to come one day.
2) Or I just start out playing again and give it another try...and pray it wont crash.
3) Or play original XGM again ( but I kinda overplayed that one

) and now I discovered this....its hard for me to go back to original XGM.

I remember that Magister Equitum didnt had much CTD's ( correct me if i'm wrong, dude

). So it is possible to play this game without getting annoyed too much I guess. I wonder why u didnt get much CTD's you lucky man.....

Well if I was you I would pick it up again there been many fixs that I have seen pluse carthage is better than ever! So give it a go I know Redfox made mention of makeing new romans due to the fact of no marius reform. So that should be fun to see what being planned for that other than that I havent had any ctd and am in my 65th turn so good so far. Give it a go!

Gargantua, I do get CTDs occasionally, but few of them could stop me from playing on

I played extensively Achaean League and Pergamum and had no issues at all. I also played Ptolemies some 15 turns, alll was fine. RedFox recommended Aedui repeatedly. Romans, Macs, and TSE must be fun to play. Perhaps, you could try some of these factions to sample a bit more of XGMD experience. I usually play 2-3 campaigns in parallel. One that gives the best experience get all my attention

AFAIK, there will be updates: new units, stats, balancing, debugging. This mod just needs some playing through, so all the little issues are discovered and solved sooner rather than later. Do not forget that this is stll a beta, but what a beta

You know, there's a reason why this is a BETA version. There are obviously some bugs present in the game, but most of the annoying ones have been fixed already.

Please make sure you always have the latest updates and also always report the CTD's or bugs you find so I can fix them. I don't have time to play-test all the factions.

As for which campaigns to play - I really really recommend Aedui or Getai - they're really one of the best factions to play, even though the units are a little bit too vanilla-ish, the campaign is truly epic

Ah yea, a BETA.......*slaps own forehead*. I've read that ....I kinda forgot about that this is just a BETA.

Alright, I will follow the advice from you guys and start a new campaign then. I report bugs when encountered.

That would be really great. There are usually minor text errors that give bad texture references, so those are easy to report and for me to fix. What I'm most interested in though, is random CTD's - in that case I usually require a lot of specific info to really fix the bug.

I will have substantially more time to work on the new Romans during this weekend, so hopefully Maraxus and I will be able to provide you guys with something rather interesting rather soon.

I remember in my game of Ptolemaics in past....I had CTD's around turn 74/75

Oh ah well....Ive seen your sticky topic "BUGS and other issues". Most people referred to an error line. But my game just crashed back to desktop without giving me any kind of warning/sign.

I thought, maybe some kind of special event happened in the game on turn 74/75 that caused my CTD. Maybe some trigger that you know of?

In future, I will try to be more precies when reporting bugs.

Usually giving me the year (ex: 245BC), which faction you were playing, what were you doing when the CTD occurred. If it was a siege battle, which factions? Who is attacking/defending? If it crashes during turn change, which faction's turn did it CTD upon? (and what faction was the next in the queue..)

Sending me a savegame won't hurt either.
