i am playing as the scipii in a reasonably tough campaign where the brutii, julii and egypt were all fairly powerful.
conquered all of africa and i got a foothold on asia minor by capturing kydonia rhodes and halcarnassus sardis etc all the way up the coast so i controlled all the ports that might be of benefit to the brutii in asia minor and forced them around the long way .
any way i stuck a load of spies into sparta athens corinth and sent a high influence diplomat to siwa the last numidian stronghold.
after i had four spies in sparta it revolted so i took out 3 of them and sent them on to corinth and captured sparta. i repeated the dose a couple of times to get corinth and athens.
so there i am in control of the med without attacking my `allies` more or less with some of the richest cities in the game and money coming in faster than i can spend it.
i knew trouble was coming as two elderly faction leaders took one for the team when the senate ordered it
managed to get on the sea with a powerful navy which allowed me to prevent invasions when i refused to hand my leader over for execution (33 year old 6 star general who upped and popped his clogs at 52 the .......).
the thing that really annoys me is that the numidians refused point blank to become a protectorate with a full stack army having a serious general on their doorstep despite being offered a ton of cash and threatened as well. they wouldn`t even ceasefire the nutters.
so imagine my surprise as i crush the brutii capturing eagle standards as i go to discover when i checked that the dacians with five territorys are a protectorate of the brutii.
is this a glitch in my game or is the diplomacy a very lazy add on which should just be used to generate cash.
