It sounds nice and all to be giving back treasures to the countries of origin but in many ways it's just not practical or even worth it. It's not like returning a TV or a radio the owner after borrowing it for a while as the actual owner died so long ago that only nationalists care to crave them.
These treasures are safer and more available for a global public to see than if they were returned back to their "Homeland".
contextually An artifact makes more sense if it rests near it's original home. but it doesn't mean it is always the best place for it.
The return of items should be a mutually negotiated agreement between museums, not nations.
but, I think that war booties that was taken after 1860-1870 should be returned though.
