Stupid Question (saving Prologue)

Hi. this is probably a dumb question and ive missed somethin..but my faction (julii) keeps dieing...at 289BC...i own tarquinii, ravenna, bovinium, tarentum, croton..and have about 6 generals/heirs to my faction leader...im then takes me out of the game when i click 'continue playing' then i re-load my autosave..and im back and able to play..and nothings changed?...
im a bit confused so if comeone could spare a minute to educate this noob it'd be much appreciated..

Continue Playing ?

Are you playing Short Campaign and try to continue to switch Long Campaign once you finish it ?

Or you can't continue your game in the main menu when you click Continue Campaign ?

I'm also not so clear what you are talking about, but I know for a fact that the autosave is faulty in RTW. That's why hardly anyone uses it. Perhaps try saving as proper save, quit, then load it again, and it might work... But you need to make your problem clearer.

no it does work once i reload the autosave...nothings wrong with the saving or loading..
its just that a big notice comes up saying my faction has been defeated. and it just irritates me.
but yeh i can seemingly continue playing...with no obvious changes to my game...so i suppose i ignore it?

maybe another faction took rome and defeated the senate and i work under their ruling now? i dont know..
all i know is a big notice comes up saying Faction Defeated, then at the bottom 2 options, continue playing or return to main menu.
i click either one and it just takes me back to the main menu.. i then loud my autosaved game and it takes me back to the same season of the same year and presto. nothings changed. its very odd.

and yes i do hope to expand to the bigger map.. i just continued on from the prologue as julii

Wait.. so are you just continuing a prologue game?

If so then that is your problem. The prologue is highly scripted. Try simply starting a new campaign.
