Newbie member and ditto question

Hi all,
My name is Thomas from the Netherlands and I've started playing MIITW 2 weeks ago. During my first campaign as scotland I encountered something strange. I got a mission from the counsil of nobles to marry my princess to one of my govenors because they are madly in love. The problem is the govenor in question is married. Is there anyway I can dispose of his current wife (who according to the family tree is a wench anyway) or is this a (known) bug.

Are you sure that he is married?? If so in the same turn did you accept to marry a bride that was presented to you??

Hi Rebel thanks for your reaction. The answer would be yes (says so in the familytree) and nope, no bride presented

So you are sure that she is not his sister beside him, usually when you can't marry him or get's married by another bride you should have a message for mission failed.

Alos sometimes Generals have similar last names, click(loupe) on your mission tag and it will show you where your general is, maybe this could help you find him

Well I checked all of that. I even moved my bride there and then got the 'no viable husbands nearby' message. After that the deadline passed and I have saved since then so no pictures I'm affraid..

Sounds strange, not heard of anything like this before. Are you sure his wife is alive? I believe there was a bug (may have been a mod-specific one) where a princess died yet was still displayed as alive in the family tree section i.e. here picture wasn't greyed out. Select your princess and try right clicking on the settlement the general is in. If he's available the chance of success will be 100%. When you hover over the settlement (with your princess selected) it should say "Potential suitors are in this army".

EDIT: ah never mind. I see you've already tried this.
