Does blockading the ports by sea or land, really get you an extra income from them?
Same question for having an army on a seatrade route or landroute

IMO, blockading ports in Modded games is kinda of redundant, seeing as they get a programmed amount of money regardless of blockading or not.

Will blockading a port get enough money to sustain your fleets upkeep? Now theres something nice to consider :p
I didn't even believe blockading a port gave you any money. I thought it just prevented your enemy from making any (or at least a lot less) from that particular port. Same with standing on land routes.
I removed the AI money script in SS because I believe that there should be as many ways to go about defeating a faction as possible. Strangling a faction economically is an example of such a way.
I just digged around in some files but there may well be a thread about it somewhere. For SS 4.1 the money script was added to the campaign_script file found in the mods "\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign" folder. I'm assuming it may be the same for SS 6.1 too. Open it with notepad, find "Money Script" and you should see it. You can either delete it entirely or just mess with the numbers until you're satisfied.![]()
does the game suffer any from doing it? i figured instead of dropping it completely, i reduced the money they get every turn to i think 2k instead of 5k+. I haven't played TW since but was wondering how it alters it.
There is another level to this as well. As everyone knows blockading ports cuts the trade not only for the faction being blockaded but also for the faction trading with them. The damage is miniscule for the third party, but they do often get pissed off.
