Vanilla Favs

Ok people, name your favorite vanilla units that are either weakened or missing from the Steel that is without Stain that you wish were back to their former glory. I suppose it would be rude of me to start this and not contribute so here it goes. In fact I have two. The almighty Spanish Almughavars and the Infraggable English Billmen. Oh I do miss the days of unstoppable Billmen armies.

Oh c'mon now. This is pathetic. Only three people miss any old vanilla units. Ok fine! Let's expand this beyond units. Anything now. Anything at all.

English armored swordsmen, but only the looks. I have already modded my AS back to vanilla. On top of the pic below. In fact, I would get rid of all brigandine armor. Chainmail and plate rule!!

Forlorn hope and Zweihanders where a lot tougher in Vanilla it seems, I used to conquer wooden camps with 4 units of Forlorn hope in Vanilla even when the fort was manned by a 3/4 stack army

I will add another I suppose. I miss the old Byzantine Varagian Guard. They ate arrows like candy and would keep on marching much to the dismay of the archers.

Vanilla sucks bad man.And armored english look better now.Please dont ask units to be powerfull how was in vanilla, come on.HRE is not powerfull enought now?

Hey, hey, hey, now! I in no way, shape, or form, will endorse the vanilla game over The Steel that is without Stain. I think we can all agree this mod is a vast improvement and somewhat addictive. (that might be a problem though) I'm just asking if there any units from the old cursed vanilla game that maybe you miss or would like to see a little stronger is all.

Oh man, i dont even remember playing vanilla.

I suppose this thread has merits based simply on people being able to voice complaints about changes to the roster, which i am always in favor of.
