PS3 game delayed until content offensive to Muslims is removed

The "social platforming" game is already gathering rave reviews, but it hasn't proven popular with one Muslim group, which issued a complaint to the game's publisher Sony concerning one background music track. Performed by award-winning Malian musician Toumani Diabate, the song quotes two verses from the Qur'an. Many Muslims consider the mixing of music and scripture to be deeply offensive.

I would like to hear from the Muslims on this board whether they consider the mixing of music and the Qur'anic scripture to be offensive. If not, please inform Sony, and the Muslim group who complained, to stop embarassing Muslims by doing this type of thing.

I'm not muslim, and am actually catholic, but i'd like to add my two cents.

No wonder muslims hate christains so much. We put scripture to music all the time. Technically though I don't see why they would get rid of it. It's not like all the world is muslim and the US at least has freedom of speech, including the right to grab ancient text related to some religion and put it to music. THis reminds me of The LEgend of Zelda: THe ocarina of Time's music in the Dark temple. I think they claimed it was their chanting or something? Anyways, i guess nintendo pulled that out, so I guess sony might as well follow precedent and give in to some seriously religious people even though I don't view it as fair or right.

They could just make the game with a feature to turn off the soundtrack. Might take a slight bit longer to release but then it can be sold on the international market without issue.

It's the very least you can do, don't act like it's some huge chore on your part, lol, like I expect you to fly across the world to this shady Muslim groups headquarters in Kalbabistan, and offer them terms, at the expense of your time, money and personal safety.
