Cannot Create Game Fonts

Hi, I have RTW patched to 1.3, and ALX patched to 1.9.
Whenever I try to start up either, the exact text of the error reads:

Cannot creat game fonts. This is a problem!


What can I do? I have reinstalled three times today and get the same error, deleting all traces with REGEDIT as well!

How good of shape are your discs in? The last time I saw an error like this was when the game disc wore out and it was a floppy.

My Alexander disc has one small scratch near the edge and two fingerprint marks from when my mom was tidying up.
My Rome is in the same condition.:hmmm:


EDIT: After crossing my fingers and hoping, ALX is able to load a saved game, I will test Rome later.
