    Default Setting Legions?

Is their a way to set certain units to a legion? or do you just have to pretend your full army is a legion? because i think it would be really interesting to have units marked for their legion same with leaders getting traits/ancillaries for being a legion commander etc
    You look great today.

I wanted to add a feature like that but I cant. I havent found a way to match the leaders to the units so they get the right traits it wouldnt match it would be random. The units or legions each have their own number on the UI card and text.

ow, i first didn't get it, but now i do

well LT, can't you do like in RS/RTR (i think it is)
then you get "commander of field army 1/commander of legio I"

maybe if you ask them it is possible?

would be a cool new feature

yes very much so, thats one of the main things i liked about RTR is the legion ancillaries

legion ancillaries can be done but they WONT match the legion Names of the unit the general is with at the time. There is NO WAY to link traits to a certain unit or units hence a general being with Legio 2 cant get a legio 2 ancillary, if using RTRs system etc. Legio 2 general may get a legio 4,5 6 etc its random. The player would then have to Try to MATCH the general with the legion and since the player may not be able to recruit all the legion numbers yet could have ancillaries for legions that he can build.

I would have loved a general to have that for the legion he was with but it isnt possible.

i don' t know if this is possible but what if you link it to a city? i don' t realy know how this works but isn' t it possible to link a ancillary to a city? or is this more like a BI future? becous if this is possible you could give this ancillary to the general that is commanding that legion.

Its alot of work for something that doesnt OFFER MUCH. Basically I can make a building that can only be built in that province and then it would give the traits etc. But still you couldnt MAKE the correct family have it and you would have more than one and no way of saying if they are in command or not anymore of the legion. Its alot of work that doesnt ADD anything.

I mean heck if you have that much time to rotate ancillaries then you are NOT playing SPQR like it should be played, you should be more concerned on Legions and economy and planning your next campaign while holding your Fronts. lol

hmmm maybe i explained it in a bad way. but if you do it like for example in SS for m2tw ore invasio barbarorum. in ss every city has like a titel for example if a family member is in a city he get s an ancillarie or traid (not sure witch one it is) with duke of Gaza ore king of jerusalem, ... this will be given only once until that person dies. so if you leave your city s without family members untill you recruit a legion with a general leave him for one turn in the city so he gets that traid or ancillarie and add him to that legion of that city you get what you want.

If I get what your saying which I think I do then say if the General stops in two diffrent cities one with say a trait building for Legio 1 and the other with a building for Legio 2 could he not then have both traits?

Yes, then you have to add more code to prevent that ITS ALOT of work for such a small feature that Most wouldnt even use or bother to switch between legions. There is always the option for People themselves for their OWN GAME to add something like this. I think if more people coded this stuff they wouldnt ask for it. lol

yeah, it's pretty much work for something little actually

maybe a superfan of SPQR TW has the time and is willing to do it

anyhow, LT, since you're reading this topic, a quick Q:
are you gonna make a SPQR TW 2 for ETW?

or no plans? and would you like to?

lol I doubt it but you never know basically ETW is unknown, we have no idea what it will be for sure. Afterall MTW2 was suppose be like RTW and yet it was capped on unit limits plus other modding issues.

    yeah that's true
and we also don't know for sure if it would be possible to make a Rome mod for ETW, with the gunfire stuff and such
and with aaaall those new things, i think it would be very hard and take a long time to mod it....

but i still hope you'll make one
