    Default RTW uninstall problems

    I am 50% sure I don't have RTW installed on this Windows. But when I try to install the Gold edition it says "previous version detected. Pls uninstall first" and closes. I run Tune Up utilities and there's no trace of it. Also it's not in the installed programm windows catalogue. So ? Even if it has been installed of which I don't remeber why can't the fuken installer ignore it ? Hell I have 3 games Mafia on my drive and 2 MSTS. Dumbness.

    It appears lots of people have this problem, and it's appeared in the Total War: Eras Tech forum many times. Do a search there, and you should come up with a good answer.

    I've had this exact problem. A full manual uninstall fixes it. Windows is notorious for horrible uninstallation, or so I've heard, and it leaves behind some Registry keys + files so the installer thinks its still installed. Give this a try.
