what fantastic reasons for changing sides.

    "the foreigners are un-islamic!"

god its like knocking our heads against brick walls.

the guys change of sides doesnt really make much difference though...the locals all change sides when it suits them so...this isnt gonna destroy NATO efforts in afghanistan (which is what u appear to be claiming...)

I believe this pretty much proves the point I tried to make in the "Iran criticizes US" thread. But in there I apparently had "no clue" according to critics 8D

I think Afganies enjoy in war and chaos, that way they allways have enough heads for their favourite sport-human heads polo. I think they orchestrated the whole thing so they can have unlimited acces to heads as sports accessories...

a fractured country that has never really experienced organised government......was always gonna be a challenge to 'rebuild' (or rather.. build...) the country from scratch with western values at its heart when theyre set on being hardline islamic.

Makes you really wonder how anyone could come up with such a ridiculous idea.
The common culture of a tribe is a sign of its inner cohesion. But tribes are vanishing from the modern world, as are all forms of traditional society. Customs, practices, festivals, rituals and beliefs have acquired a flut and half-hearted quality which reflects our nomadic and rootless existence, predicated as we are on the global air-waves.

You do know that this is now at least the fourth time that westen society has sent an army into Afghanistan with the intention of calming the region? It has been a dismal disaster every time.
This time will be no different.

You take one example of a religous zealot fanatic moron and think that is the majority of the Afghan populace!!!

Funny thing when the majority of the Afghans do not want the Taliban and tnes of thousnads of Afghans are fighting against the Taliban.

They are fighting against Talibans 'casue they have to fight with somebody, Pashtun chieftains and warlords don't care who they are fighting against only important thing to them is to create chaos so they can profit from it, simple as that.

No, there are other Afghanis besides Pashtuns!!! Many are well educated and despise and hate the Taliban, as do many other Afghanis that were victims of the Taliban's oppression. Many Pashtun's are educated and live in the cities and not in the tribal areas. You seem to be stereotyping Afghanis.

However, you are right to a cetain degree as the Afghanis do have a history of fighting each other due to tribalism and old ways and thought processesetc., but hopefully that will change.

    Not for long...

You realise that Talibans means '' students '', they are the educated ones...
Only reason why one part of Afghanies support USA while other support Talibans is that they can profite something from that, honestly I believe that they would like that both USA and Talibans get out of their country so they can steal each other's cattle and women in peace...

Taliban were originally students from Refugee camp/border town madrassas, they were "religious" students, other than how to be angry, they haven't got education in anything else.

Taliban was composed of reliogus zealots, whether educated or not and most were not educated in colleges but educated by other religous zealots. many of the Taliban leaders were uneducated by modern standards, and the majority of the Taliban rank and file were simply uneducated tribal and religous zealot thugs.

Taliban was a tribal based organization for the most part, and their support is mainly in the south and southwest.

yea that will work since muslim fanatics really fear death...almost as much as they like britney spears...
maybe if the US army had speakers big enough they could flush out taliban with her music...hell it worked in Basra...
But until then more and more afghanistan will rise against US led occupation ...
