    Default troops walk on water?

    there have been 3 sicilian generals stuck ON the ocean and i cant figure out how to move them. i looked up the cheat code for move character but as usual they dont provide detailed enough instructions. i tried the name in quotes and out of quotes, i tried spacing and no spacing. if anyone knows how to make this code work please give an example with a 3 word named character please. i need to move these guys before they crash my game somehow.

    no. all i need is someone who knows how to input the code correctly. i used it before a long time ago to move an english army from iraq that was stuck. I just forget how i input the code. the code is move_character followed by name which im not sure if theres quotes or commas followed by the x,y coordinates which i recall a code to display those too but cant find again. this game has a horrible code system and every code requires a different format. some need commas and some dont.. who the hell made that up?

    Let's say your character was called Boy Blue, and your desired co-ordinates are 123,4565. So the command would be

    move_character "Boy Blue" 123,456

    No quotations around the co-ordinates. If his name was Boy the Righteous or some other appointed title I can't remember how to input them. You have attach "the" to "Boy" or "Righteous". Same goes for someone like Boy of Blue. If he's King Boy I dunno either.

    If, for example, the character's name is "Boy of Blue", then use:

    move_character "Boy of_Blue" 123,456

    If the character has an epithet, then you're pretty much stuck with trying to figure out the family name from other characters in that faction. That's very hit-or-miss.

    To add to what has already been said, I would cross reference the ingame name with the entry in the descr_names.txt. You should use the name in the {}, and spaces should be entered as _.

    Now tell me more about the walking on water. What tiles are they on?

    there are about 6 familiy members stuck on the right side of messina.

    so now im having a problem with captain armies lol. theres 1 sicilian army and 1 rebel army stuck still. i was able to move the others to points around sicily. is there a way to move or view captains cause i cant see the captains name.
    also im having trouble with a guy named d'Altavilla. i tried d_altavilla d'Altavilla and dAltavilla and it wont recognize him.

    Try Altavilla, that should works.

    I think ai am beginning to under stand this stuck unit problem. If you have enemy fleets or units near the straits of Messina, their ZOC will block you from moving. Destroy the enemy units and try moving.

    Also, can you upload a save, I wouldlike to see this.

    where do i upload the save to?

    also on another note...turn fog of war off and look at eastern europe. its a giant rebel zone. the russian dynasty died out due to all the rebels over there and poland and the cumans are also and the verge of being killed off by rebels. can you do something to turn down dissent for the AI in eastern europe? maybe set all cities with russian and steppe zones as an automatic passive 20% happiness bonus.

    Sometimes you can use the word "this" in place of a character name for console commands.

    If you can get the character alone, outside of a group or settlement, click on it and open the console, try using "this" in place of name in the command line.

    Its the late era i believe. its not a custom scenario. i like playing with larger amounts of artillery and cavalry so i edited the base export descript file to increase the cavalry back up to 50 men in huge scale.

    It looks like the Citadel model is too big for the Messina area. I will have to try to reposition it. I still can't quite figure out how the rebels ended up on the water.

    most of the rebels generally started out as sicilian troops i think. i know i saw a few of them go rebel and the rebel area of influence pushes other family members who walk by out to sea i think.

    It looks like they were forced to retreat to the water after a battle.....I'm not sure what I can do about this :hmmm:

    It happened to me in Rome Barbarian Invasion. I had to leave them there because it was impossible to move them anywhere.
