I don't get this....

My RTW game broke a few months ago and I got a new copy for my birthday yesterday. But the new copy ( I havent even had a chance to install it yet) is not made by SEGA (Im in Ireland) Its made by White label or something like that. Its the same game just different company which cant be possible. Can anyone explain?

Hmm. I had a similar experience.
I bought a game once, Vampire The Redemption, the original company was Activision but the one bought was sold wby the name Explosiv. It's an original copy, I even registered it..

Sega and White label are the publishers who actually distribute the game, the game is made by the Creative Assembly. When games get old and therefore less profitable, publishers often sell the rights of the games ownership to smaller company's (White-Label) who carry on distributing the game and make money that way.

CA just switched distributors, AFAIK. Activision should be on the older games, while SEGA is on the newer ones.

I still use vanilla but I dont have a problem with it, its still exciting but is it true that some mods make it more realistic? And yeah Gauls are the scum of the earth. I kill every Gaul I see.... The only thing worse that Gauls are random pirate ships that pop up everywere and destroy my beautiful fleet...

I have white label as well. They seem to buy up and sell older games after a sequel has been released. I find it no different to SEGA.

No problem! Do you still use vanilla? If you ever get bored of it (if thats possible) try a realism mod, like EB or RTR.

Both EB and RTR make it more realistic. RTR plays more like vanilla but with much better graphics and no more fantasy units (pharoahs bowmen: wtf?) but in my experience EB is harder and plays completely differently.

You'll find that most, if not all, mods make the game more realistic (discounting fantasy mods..). EB and RTR are at the forefront of that group, though EB is far more up to date and more separated from vanilla.

Just to add to what Scutarii and I have already said; RTR is basically vanilla but vaguely believable. It actually represents the time period, and kills all fantasy units. Other than that it plays just like vanilla. EB is completely different, and requires a different style of play, but one that reflects what actually happened.
