I want to share it with the community. Also is there somebody who achieved a greater victory in this game? Not only Alexander but RTW and BI as well? 3 big armies killed by I suppose half an army. I know the armies came one after another but still it's a huge victory indeed. I cannot imagine doing this on E/E even!

It wasn't him, it was Severous, if I'm understanding his post correctly. And Severous is indeed a god, he's done campaign in ridiculously short periods of time, check out some of his AAR's on heavengames.com. They're great. He also did a Germanic defensive AAR, just defended starting territories until the end of the game.

Nice work! My best army I use to slaughter army after army after army of the foe consists of 8 units sliver shield pikemen, 4 units silver shield leigionnaires, 6 units of armoured elephants and a general. I just pointed it at europe at fought my way to the gates of rome. The siege of rome (after the julii ruled europe) was the first battle in which I lost more than 40 men. I killed well over 10000 leigionnaires with this army.
Although this may disappoint some people, I am indeed alive, I just went inactive for three years.

Severous is an awesome RTW campaign player. I've been introduced to some of his AARs of his campaigns, and they are truly magnificently played.

How the hell he did that ?
Was he fighting with elite soldiers against numerous peasants or what ?
I actually see myself as a good campaing player, strategist, and a good general in battle map, I've done many outnumbered battles, turn the tide of the battles that was destined to end in defeat and won, but THIS.. ?
I don't think I can achieve such a victory and it really deserves the title of Heroic Victory in every way.

The pre-battle picture. Bunch of archers and cavalry, and a good number of infantry as well.

Not exactly elites, but not purely peasants. But with that volume of medioche troops, with only an average army himself, he did extremely well.

How did he do it? I have several thoughts; some based off of the discussions he and I had during our Greek SWAP campaign; some based off of my experience using cavalry in dirty, underhanded ways; and some based on other experience.

1.) Even if a battle seems unwinnable; I will think and think... and ponder some more, to figure out how I am going to win. I always do this BEFORE I enter battle; and usually do it on the campaign map, to pick the best terrain for an upcoming encounter. During the pre-battle set-up, I will study the terrain to see how I can use it to support a PLAN to squeeze every bit of heartache out of the PLAN/TERRAIN for my opponent, and then set up my units accordingly. The difference between Severous and I is that I will usually win battles I originally thought unwinnable, which were thrust upon me; whereas Severous (as can be seen in the above SWAP campaign link)actively seeks out (and wins) several of those battles, per turn, with the same stack. And here we see it again: Severous picking a fight (yes, look at Entroy Judge's post: Severous is the aggressor) the likes of which I would only contemplate if it were thrust upon me.

2.) In battle, I live on the pause button; as does Severous. Some folks feels this is cheating. To each his own. I feel 'no pause' is what multiplayer is for, and that not using the pause in single player is an artificial 'house rule' with which I do not burden myself. Battles which most people fight in 5 or 10 minutes (and often lose) will take me 45 minutes. If things are not going according to PLAN (see step 1, above) then I stop and think about how to get things going my way. Even if things are going well, I will pause in order to craft a way to get every last kill possible. I know Severous does the same.

3.) So, how to win? If skillfully handled, this is three separate fights.

    (to be continued)

It took him 95 minutes real-time (check the link Strategist provided, search for "Daha" - should be the second instance).

Would I be right in presuming he has unlimited ammo on? With that number of missile cavalry?

No way dude. If he had I suppose it would be a lot more harder for him because of the enemy unit ration advantage. The enemy troops also would have unlimited ammo and won't get tired and very hard to get them routing .

I can hardly understand somehow how he routed so many spearmen, cavalry, axemen and swordsmen but how the hell did he managed to kill 7 groups of archers and 5 groups of slingers without losing lots of units? He can't beaten them with infantry so cavalry but how after the enemy had so much cavalry and other units to protect them? Looks like some GOD micromanaging.

    Severous had :
432 cavalry units + 53 general cavalry for melee
    152 missile cavalry
    241 phalanx
    Dahae had :
    320 axeman
    1080 cavalry
    800 slingers
    1020 swordmen
    480 peasants
    1980 spearmen
And he left 293 men alive approximately. Maybe some recovered from their lounds. Some of the enemy units also had experience as well. It will be a good chalange for us to try this battle even on easy setting in custom battle and see can we beat them? But somehow we must adjust the cpu to wait for the first army to die and after that sending in another one etc.

If you look at the Missile Cavalry, they're out of ammo. And he only had two.
