Context is key to interpreting the Bible clearly, one of the reasons why I am against quoting only specific versions without context.

In the context it's talking about punishment given to Priests who need punishment.

Exactly. Unless you read the whole chapter, reading the verse alone wouldn't make sense.

Exactly right, the scriptures have to be taken into context. You have to ask, what does the whole chapter talk about? You can't just singularly examine one verse without examining the scriptures written before and after it.

Try Jeremiah 5:8 for example?? Sounds pretty funny if you read it singularly, and not read the entire context.

morteduzionism - as far as I know, the OT is used by a fair amount of Christian religions - not just the Jews. I know I don't just use the NT, both the canons reflect and compliment each other.
