I voted for the Franks because I've always wanted to carve out Charlemagne's empire. Also, is there going to be a Moor (Muslim) faction? I have always wanted to also fight as Charles Martel and fight the battle of Tuors to repel the Muslims out of Europe.

AoD2 starts in 527. There is no islamic faction. The rest of our factions is shown in our list (see post 1). And yes, as shown in our list, a moorish faction is obviously available.
More interesting for you is probably our planned projects of AoD3 (636AD) and AoD4 (the Charlemagne mod).

Awesome. I'm actually suprised there aren't very many dark-age mods. I mean technically you can make BI a dark age time by just playing past the end date, but obviously things are left out. Good luck with the mod!

Voted long ago for the Visigoths. But meanwhile I think the Langobardi will be a better choice.
Centered more in the middle of the map and the action obviously. And they have to conquer the rich Italian provinces. I am curious how the AI-Romans will succeed in the campaign. Will they be able to start conquests in the West?
