Can't start campaign/battles

I just bought Kingdoms earlier today, installed it, then installed Sicilian Vespers 3.0, type the corresponding letter for whatever era, and go to play a campaign game for any faction and it will just freeze as I hit Start.

It also won't let me play any custom battles



Maybe this is because I didn't patch to 1.05, but I tried patching with like 3 different download links (making sure they were NOT Gold Only patches) and it always says:

1st: after americas update part is complete:

2nd: after Brittania update part is complete:

there was one or more issues discovered while updating Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms.

Status:
-Medieval II Total War: Americas :Failed to Update
-Medieval II Total War: Britannia: Failed to Update
-Medieval II Total War: Crusades: Failed to Update
-Medieval II Total War: Teutonic: Failed to Update.

All the locations in question Exist: i checked them myself, to ensure they were where this thing asked, and indeed they were.



So I'm really lost, I've tried every combination of uninstalling/reinstalling the Chivalry II mod, the Kingdoms expansion, and even the Vanilla game itself and it just won't work

Any help is really appreciated.

Well, i don't have a problem with the mod but with updating Kingdoms, i get the same errors and i have a new disk.

I have uninstalled the games and reinstalled them twice and each time i try to update Kingdoms i get the same four errors that result in four failed updates.

What can i do?

Oh welcome, your first post on TWC ...

Well, in the first place, i would guess this forum/thread is the best source for solving your problem: MIITW tech help. Most effective is probably to make your own thread there.

Eventually check also the general M2TW forums, ie. stickied threads, there are often things mentioned around installation of patches andthelike.

It appears to be hanging, but it is actually building the campaign map. This is normal for the first time you play each campaign (or delete the map.rwm file).

Let it sit for a few minutes, and it should start the campaign.

I just see that the user zimke is spamming his message into around 20 threads.

This is a clear case (offtopic posting and spamming, i guess) for a global moderator, normally.

I won't do something for now, but if the user zimke is adding just only one more post-copy of his problem into any more threads, then it will be a case for a global moderator.

I removed his mass-posting already from our sticky threads.

Also, he shall remove all his post-copy-texts from any of the threads (via the edit button), just except here in this thread, where he got already a reply from SV and me to his problem.
Edit: Was waiting on him that he would remove his mass-postings, he didn't: Have nowremoved all his mass-posts as spam-deletion.

I was actually going to suggest that you ask zimke what medication he is currently on besides his system specs, but since I don't post at twcenter much... Maybe it is time for a change.
