Let us say that I am atheist. I am looking for a religion that has good morales and values. What religion would be a good one to convert to in your opinion?

In my opinion- Unitarian Universalism. It has good societal ethics, values, and morals, but it does not require any specific theological view. A lot of UU's are agnostic, many are deists, quite a few are atheists, many are Christians, and there's even UU pagans. It's a very broad and tolerant religion, and it accepts a lot of different views, with the main point of UU'ism being a morality based around respect, humanism, and kindness. The downside is, UU'ism can be very general and nonspecific when it comes to religious practices due to this acceptance of a wide myriad of ideas. So to an unenthusiastic participant, it might seem a tad dry.
Wicca, the religion I belong to, has a very fair and tolerant system of morals, but there's a lot of other beliefs intrinsic to it that would make it difficult for an agnostic or atheist to adopt it as a religion. Among those are polytheism, nature-based theology and practices, witchcraft/folk magic, and all that implies. Just like any other religion, it's not for everyone.
Nothing utilitarian has ever been good.
how about not being a sheep and letting others, like a priest tell you how to live your life?
how about learning to live with your own spirituality, and not trying to seek the approval of others ie converting to x religion to please your friend swho are in x religion.
in other words, joining a religion and having good morals and values are often 2 very different things; you can have one without the other, and vice versa.
I'm with Exarch on this one: you can't run around in the supermarket and look at all the etiquettes, and decide which one looks like the best bang for the buck.

Atheism is simply a way of clearing the space for better conservations.

Don't ask us - or anyone, for that matter. Make your own decision. All that someone else can tell you is this:
"I belong to X religion. Therefore, you should convert to X."
Judging by the information, the path of the god of thieves is DEFINITELY for you.
Prejudice is 100% ignorance, 100% immaturity and therefore 200% stupidity.
If your asking this question in a forum then religion proberbly isnt something you should take up. Having a belief and faith in something cannot simply be picked and chosen like you would pick what apple looks nicest to eat. Most religions will have a good set of morals but I certainly dont think that you need religion to have a good set of personal morality.
Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo.
Read a bunch of books (ask what books are meaningful to religious people you know, if they say the Bible, ask what book of it). If you want my recomendations (though I don't belong to a specific religion myself) read The Dynamics of Faith by Tillich and Answer to Job by Jung. The gospel of John and certain of the Upanishads have also been interesting to me.
Also, attend services. Religion is not an entirely abstract thing. Even within a single religion, there is a huge amount of variation about how people express themselves, particularly in services. If incense is your thing, you can find that, and if getting bitten by snakes does it for you, that's available too.
Some Quakers (not many and none in most congregations) are atheist/agnostic, and are usually tollerant of those who are, so you may feel at home there.
Like others have said, religion is not something you just pick out, expose yourself to it and see if what inspires you.

Noremac,
If it's only a religion you seek the choice is yours but if it is God you seek the choice is His. That is He does the choosing as to who gets saved and who does not already quite definitely determined some two thousand odd years ago at Calvary.
What destiny you have therefore lies in His hands and one way, the only way, to find out is to search the Scriptures, because they are the power of God to save any. Religion has no such power. Religion is manmade assumption whereas the people of God, the elect, note that word, are them that God has changed forever, religion's dirty mitts playing no part.

Or Taoism but you'll have to learn I Ching quotes for every occasion.
By the way, "good morals and values" are relative and subjective. For a Muslim and a Jew, drinking is not good behavior but it's completely acceptable for Christians.
Furthermore, Stoicism (OK, it's a system and not a religion per se) and Taoism teach self-restraint, self-control and rationality whereas Islam is all about passion and so is Christianity.
Death be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for, thou art not so.
to the OP..i suggest u read ur self..the forums are not going to help much. try reading into religions and then start going to where ur mind is taking u.
by saying.."let's say iam an atheist"..it sounds like u r not willing for a conversion, instead a conversation of what religion is the best of all...an awful argument if u really are intending to start such an argument.
"Egyptians; to the young rebels, and to every one who was killed, bloodied or contributed in the simplest way, what you did has defied any description. you have the world on it's knees gazing at your bravery and determination. you have opened up a new chapter in Egyptian history, one that will be determined by people's love for this country" - an honorable revolutionary,
That's why I said "Let's say I was atheist". I have a relgion. I wanted to see if anyone would answer someone who has no religion and is searching for his true path in life. All of this is hypothetical.
