Default Why are some characters too old ?

When confronting the Athenians in my campaign I noticed that their ruler Pisistratus was 60 years old at the games start. He was born around 600 bc in real life, so he should be 41 in my opinion.
(His reign lasted until 527 in reality - I donīt think that a character in ROP will become 92 years old )

The same counts for the lydian king Kroisos. In the game he is 53 and he was born probably around 595, so he should be approximate 36 years.
The only problem would be that there are then not enough adult children for governing the lydian towns.

Yep that's exactly the problem - having adult offspring to govern their empires. We will see by how many years we can cut their age though - maybe through faction leaders that are killed via a script at gamestart, which 'father' the real leaders like Peisistratos, Kroisos etc.

When I understand that correct, then the leaders would have brothers, or ?

That would be a good idea.

An adult Leonidas is kind of out of place in 559 BC, too.

Yes brothers would be a good choise I think. We will see what works best. I'll kick Leonidas back into childhood - he hasn't learnt the tricks of being a good ruler yet

Not to mention he wasn't born until around 540 BC...

only a idea about Leonidas: Is it possible for him to be born around lets say 552/550 ?

So he would still be alive at the end game (and not dying of age sometime before).

A realistic birthdate of 540 would be bad, because you donīt know what happens with his father Anaxandrides meanwhile.

Can you script, when a certain character gets born ? Or is that just fortune ?
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh and beside of that - Anaxandrides is another king, who is to old !
He reigned until 525 or something around that - and Leonidas is his third-oldest son, and not his oldest as represented in the actual version.
His four sons are: Kleomenes [from his first wife - he is still missing in the game, if i remember my current spartan campaign right], Dorieus, Leonidas and Kleombrotus

I wasn't 100% sure at the time, but I found this link listing his birth year as 521 (don't mind the 300 screenshot at the top, the info given about him is accurate, as far as I can see).
