Default My Generals are all brutally corrupt, brutally scarred drunks!

It gets to a point of ridiculous in my games where every general and family member above the age of 25 becomes a disgusting drunkard automatically, or insanely corrupt no matter what settlement they govern, how chivalrous they are, or how much money is in our coffers, and every battle they take part in sees them increase one level in the "Scarred" trait, to where every general who's fought six or seven battles becomes "Drunky the Scarred".

It's gotten so bad that I've removed the epithet for scarred because every single damn general I've had has ended up as a "the Scarred".

How do I edit these traits to strongly reduce their occurrence/escalation?

Have a look in export_descr_character_traits. Do a search for the first of the offending traits, (ctrl+f and type battlescarred). Keep going until you find the trigger section EG.
    Code:
    Trigger Battle_General_Took_Hits
    WhenToTest PostBattle
    Condition GeneralHPLostRatioinBattle > 0.3
    Affects BattleScarred 1 Chance 30
    Affects Brave 1 Chance 20
To reduce the chance of getting the affect BattleScarred, change the Chance to a lower percentage. Once you have selected a number your happy with, continue to search the rest of the file, quite a few traits have multiple triggers. The next one in my file is,
    Code:
    Trigger Worthy_Of_Adoption_3_VnV_Trigger
    WhenToTest OfferedForAdoption
        Affects BattleScarred 1 Chance 17
        Affects Intelligent 1 Chance 8
        Affects NaturalMilitarySkill 1 Chance 8
        Affects GoodCommander 1 Chance 80
        Affects Handsome 1 Chance 10
    Hope that helps...

Well, it also helps to not have the general's bodyguard in the thick of battle. If they just chase rooting units and just charge once or twice in combat and then leave, it will be OK.

Also, I would just suggest you increase the treshold of the battlescarred instead of the chance to happen.

I'm too used to Rome Total War, with the general indeed always in the thick of battle. It also doesn't help that a lot of the time most of my cavalry is pathetically weak without the general's bodyguard leading them.
