This was quoted from another board, can someone here comment or give me advise so that I can help this poor guy out.
thanks Rebel
Ok so I'm playing as Sicily last night about 30 turns in. The Pope calls a Crusade against Antioch. I have two full stacked armies, one near Tripoli and the other near Milan. So as I move the Milan army toward Antioch I get stopped on the coast near Venice by a white/blue swirling orb. I'm looking at it going, "What the heck is that ?!?!"
I move the second army toward Antioch along the African coast and a similar orb stops my path and I cant move their either. So I go back to the Milan army and click on the army to attack the orb. Next thing I know its loading for a battle. Still confused, the download completes and there is my army waiting to be deployed against what looks like a rebel army.
As I place my units and start the battle, I attempt to outflank them with cavalry, but suddenly I'm getting bombarded by cannon shot. There was no way I was in range yet either!?!? So half my cavalry on the right gets mowed down, while the right side makes it through unscathed. So now that the rebel look alike army is flanked. I go charging in on the sides and attack from the front with my militia units. Before I was half way from my start point with my cavalry they start getting butchered.
I'm amazed at this point cause NOTHING is making sense. "No arrows, no catapults, no cannons, so what the heck is ripping through my cavalry this time?!?!", I say. I zoom in on the enemy and there they were, the front row laying on their stomachs, the second row kneeling on one knee behind the first row, and the third row standing behind the second; all have Mauser Karabiner 98 kurz rifles aimed at my troops.
Behind them 88mm guns were being used as artillery to rip my troops apart. What I thought were boulders from a distance were Mark III tanks tearing away with machine gun fire. On each of the soldiers grey uniforms was a black swastica on a red circle. Somehow they were, or my army was, transported in time to a very 1 sided battle. I lost the whole army cause I never went to stop my charge cause I was to busy looking at the graphics and details on the Nazi force attacking me.
Only when I recieved the message that my general died did I realize I had lost the whole army. As for my army in Africa, I went and saved the game before doing the battle, but when the save was done, the swirling white/blue colored orb was gone replaced by a real rebel army. What a cookie that was!
