Default My current campaign progress (ROME)

Just thought I would share my campaign. Today I just wiped the Gauls and Iberians off the face of the earth. It took quite some time and effort becuase both factions were at war with me. This campaign has been very fun so far because I have had no allies at all. All my neighbors don't like me at all and since the beginning I have been at war with them. I took the carths out early by dropping some armies at their capital and expanding west. Meanwhile the Guals kept sending stacks to Rome and I had been fighting them off for what it must of seemed like 65 years. They never sacked romme becuase I had it fortified and defended very well.

After I disposed of the Carths and controled that section of Africa, Iberia decided to go to war with me, they must of been smart and realized that I was going to come for them soon.

My origional stratgey was to take Iberia and then hit the Gauls from there as well as Itality but what ended up happening was that Iberia proved to be a little difficult attacking from Africa using boatload after boatload so I amassed a huge army from Itality, waited for the perfect time to strike to the north (usually whenever they attacked rome and I annahilated them) and I pushed very hard and ended up sending their culture to the afterlife. damn smelly celts.

So I then moved down to Iberia and sandwhiched them between my southern forces and just an hour ago I finnished them off.

Macedonia is not very happy at the ammount of territory I have accumilated and they have been sending stacks of armies to Itality and also using small forces and attacking my vulnerable gual cities that I took. I had to send much of my northern army down to Iberia to secure that area so I could utilize the mines which as left northern gual very vulnerable and Macedonia has been sending small armies there.

Macedonia has been trying to take Patavium for awhile now but I have held them off for some time. They pulled a smart move on me though and managed to sneak down to Mediolanium and took it before I could react with a larger force. That opened up their way to Jenuesis and now they got stacks coming from Itality's NW as well. Eventually Patavium may fall if I dont reinforce them in the next 10 years or so and to the west they are attacking as well. I am considering falling back to Arretium/Ariminum and setting up a defense there but that would be another standoff just like the ones I was in with the Gauls. Ive also been considering using the island south of itality as a staging point for an attack on Macedonia's southern tip so divide them a bit and push them back out of the north and have them fighting 3 fronts. I'm not sure yet.

Right now I have a roman defense being set up at the Iberian/Gaul chokepoint so I can concentrate on building my mines in Iberia up as well as a huge army. I may allow the macedonians to take Gaul and just storm it later. I also have a boat en route to take the rebel islands up north so I can attack from all directions.

The secluids and I are neutral right now, they are involved in a huge war with Macedonia as well. I havent messed with them but I may set up a stageing point on my Eastern Afirca territory to attack them depending on how Macedonia is doing and how the statistics are faring. This has by far been the best campaign ive played!

No wonder that you've got no money:
I can see that you maintain large garrisons in Rome and Ancona, although they're far from your borders - and the cities are happy!

So get those garrisons to fight the macs or disband them, I guess there are more cities within your empire that have unnecessary large garrisons.
Get rid of them and see your treasury rise
As Particians already said, recruit some stacks and send them to the entire greek homeland and sack/destroy everything.
Have a lot of spies or artillery with you so you can sack multiple cities in one turn!
If you don't do this, you'll have an endless war with the macs - and that is what you DON'T want, believe me
Ally with the Seleucids if possible.

He may also be retraining his armies in those cities. Personally I would launch and naval attack on Southern Greece and try to hold the front in Northern Italy. Hopefully this diverts some attention from the Maks so you can re-secure your northern lands.

Stopping Macedons before they become the Black Death is the key. Smash the Greece! Burn their houses! Take their women! XD
It's only after you have lost everything, that you are free to do anything.
