    Default Kill Seleucids

Is there a way to kill a faction via console?
In every single one of my campaigns the Seleucids are ruining the game by killing off all the other factions. They are so overpowered, that by the time my legions arrive at asia minor, all the other factions are dead.

Is there a way to kill off the Seleucids? I tried the force diplomacy way and took almost all of their regions to give them to other factions, but 10 or 20 turns later, they have recaptured all of them.

Any ideas? And do you also experience the Seleucids as overpowered?

What EB version are you using? Almost every EB1.1 campaign I played, the Seleucid Empire always shrink. Crushed by every faction on their borders, except Hayasdan.

In my games, the Seleucids struggle at first, but always recover later.

I'm playing 1.1 and in EVERY campaign they have been dominant.

There seems to be a bit of variety, but in most campaigns the Ptolemies are able to take advantage of the Seleukid situation of being surrounded by other powers.

It is good to hear though that there are times where the Seleukids pull through. There were several times historically where if that one wacky thing hadn't gone wrong we might have seen a different history. The Seleukids suffered notoriously for bad luck.

in my EB experience, either the Ptolmies or the Selucids eventually dominate. not sure why that is, but it is. In my last 2 campaigns, including the present one, it is the Selucids that are running wild.

must have something to do with how the autocalc treats units that are available early on to the Selucids and Ptolmies. :hmmm:

Playing as Makedon, now in 173 bc. I have all of Greece, the Balkans, the Adriatic cost all the way up to and including Venetia (where I have successfully blocked the Romans, who have expanded Westwards at an alarming rate), and Asia Minor. I've been fighting the Seleukids for 40-50 years, fending off stack after stack. In the beginning their armies included a large number of elites. A surgical strike at Antioch, which I gifted to the Ptolemaic Empire, has reduced the quality of enemy I face. I'm now besieging Seleukia, another source of elites. After this city I heading for Babylon.

When I launched my invasion of Asia Minor, the Seleukids had gained a slight advantage over the Ptolemies, but they hadn't yet wiped out all their neighbours. There was something of a stalemate in the East. Pontos was doing well, as were the Hayasdan and the KH. Not sure what is happening further East, but the Pahlava and the Baktrians are still alive and well.

Well in my 1.1 in my third campaign I am the Romani in 230. When I went over to the east the selucids had conquered Tarsus, but had lost the rest of western and middle turkey to Pontos and Makedonia.

In my Roman campaign ... it's been a while since I've looked over there, actually. I know Pontus holds Asia Minor, Hayasdan has expanded into the Steppes, Baktria and Pahlava are holding the former eastern Seleucia, but I think the Seleucids are managing to hold what's left of their territory. I'll have to check back, though.

in my current campaign, seleukids are very tough. their progress is really great. its year 255 bc and they annihilated ptolemaioi and pahlava, pushing saka and pontos. they are like mad, a lion attacking a lamb. maybe it's because I'm playing as seleukids.

the main reason the ptolies and the seleucids are so overpowered is because they share barracks. They expand swiftly because unlike most factions they don't really have to settle in to a new region and build infrastructure. As soon as the ptolies get antioch they start pumping elite units like crazy. If they fail at this then the seleucids run them over.

In my macedon campaign i sent a kamikaze army right into yellow controlled anticoh. After capturing it i destroyed EVERY building in that city, then i gave it to the seleucids. It managed to stall the ptolies for nearly 30 years, enough to turtle miself through asia minor. In the mean time the seleucids got torn apart by parthia , pontos and saka, although they are starting to recover right now.

In my campaign the Seleukids en the Ptolemaioi are busy @ rebel regions, they just seem to be unable to capture them. Although the Seleukids are wasting the other minor factions to the east. For I am the Averni and I am far away from them so I don't really care.

I would hate to be the selukids. I don't like big empires. Little ones are easy to manage and are fun agianst big empires. Right now I am the Baktrians, I own two provinces that selukia once owned including baktra.

It is year 221 BC and Seleukia is about to loose all of their western provices to Ptolemaoi and Hayasdan but very aggresively advancing eastwards.
However I surprised the way Pahlava and Saka Rauka are rising in power but all of them are no concern of mine. The Epeiros and Koinon Hellenon are my pain in the ass.
    Regardless S.P.Q.R will prevail anyways!!!

The Seleucids have been running rampant in my 1.1 Romani game, conquering the Ptolemies and most of Asia. I have been defending a bridge south of Lepki (former Karthadastim city south of Sicicly) as the Seleucids send stack after stack after stack after stack after stack after stack across the desert to oblivion, which seems to have ceased their expansion. Does get a little tedious fighting the same bridge battle two or three times a year, but it's fun to watch the poor bastards throw themselves futilely against my (mercenary) pike fence at the end of the bridge. If you can find a good chokepoint I would recommend camping it and then raiding their home territory to destroy their MICs and so forth.
