    Default Steam and

I bought Rome Total War and BI from Steam a while ago and I can not play any mods at all.

Everything I download and install a new mod and tries to start it, it just tells me that

    "Steam can not be found"

Otherwise the vanilla game works perfectly on steam.

    I am running Windows Vista

    THANKS!

I don't remember which threads deal with Steam and Vista in Rome nor do I have the time to do the legwork for you. There is a search function on the toolbar at the top right side that can be your friend. Type in Steam, Vista, Rome, any combination of others you can think of. The answer is on this site but maybe not in this particular forum. Read them all. Your answer may not stick out but buried in other information that may pertain to the same thing.

First of all welcome to the forum.

As irishron has posted there are numerous posts about Vista and Steam (not necessarily in the same post). If you look up User Access Control (UAC) that is usually one of the features of Vista that needs to be taken into account. Some people turn it off and others don't - which you do affects the solution.

I think some of the RTW patches need to be sourced from steam as well (I think there have been problems in the past where people have downloaded the RTW patches from the official site and had problems applying them to a game sourced from steam).
