RTW and 1680 x 1050 screen

Hi,

I've just got a new computer and have all the graphics for RTW set on their highest. But in the army selection screen (in Custom Battle etc) and in the HUD display in the battle screen, the unit cards look pixelated.

Does anyone know anything I can do to fix this?

Perhaps because the picture has been so blown up that you can see the actual pixels? Like zooming in too much on a picture.

I do not think Rome - Total War was designed with these resolutions in mind. try turning some AA on.

In game I've got everything set on high and using 1680 x 1050 resolution.

The specs sound fine - I presume 1680 x 1050 is the 'native' resolution of the E207WFP? I know the 24" (two years old) and 27" widescreens I have from Dell all have 1920x1200 as the native resolution.

Can you post a screen shot to show us what you are referring to.

I'm having problems taking a screenshot.

I'm pressing the screenshot button, but it takes a screenshot of my desktop, not of RTW (and yes, I do have RTW running!

Yes, that happens to me now on my desktop that uses Vista.

I now use fraps (www.fraps.com) to take screen shots. It's free. You can assign PF keys to take screen shots and movies. You can specify where those screen shots go. The free version of fraps allows movies of up to 30 seconds - the licensed version (one-off fee) allows as much as your hard drive can take!

I paid for the license several years ago.

What is the native resolution for your screen?

If native is default, then it was 1680 x 1050.

Obviously it's not too big a deal, the gameplay isn't effected and the in-game graphics are amazing. It still bugs me though.

Yea I same problem but all you can do is change the resoloution on your card for that. I know it a bumber but if you dont mind it then it all good and to change it go into you ATI Catalyst center or right click on the screen and go into from there and go into Display manager and change the settings. Hmm with a 512MB ATI Radeon® 3870 Graphics card you should be able to fix that in the 3d section and just go down the list and put it where you want to be me I have it maxed out.
