    Default Broken Crescent 1.05 Kingdoms

    How To Install Broken Crescent Kingdoms

    This is a manual installation on Broken Crescent Kingdoms, so please read carefully before installing. Please skip the steps if you already have these installed.

    Installing Core Game:

    1. Install Medieval 2 Total War

    2. Install Medieval 2 Total War: Kingdoms Expansion (minimum 1 campaign should be enough).

    3. Install Medieval 2 Total War: Kingdoms Expansion patch v1.5
    * Choose the patch according to your M2TW/Kingdoms version.

    Make sure the game/patch is working before proceeding.

    Installing the Mod.

    Before installing the mod you must make sure that you have no other mod installed that changes any of the vanilla game files or it may not work as intended. Other mods that are installed in their own mod-folder shouldn't cause any problems though.

    1. Install Broken Crescent v1.0

    2. Install Broken Crescent patch v1.05
    * The post 1.05 fix is not needed as I have included them in the Broken Crescent Kingdoms mod.

    3. Open you Medieval II Total War folder where you have install Broken Crescent, for example (mine) is at D:\Program Files\GAMES\SEGA\Medieval II Total War



    4. Copy your broken_crescent folder and paste it in the mods folder



    5. Unpack the Broken Crescent Kingdoms (to desktop) and/or directly overwrite the old files with news ones to Medieval II Total War/mods/broken_crescent
    * Use winrar which can be download (free) here: http://www.rarlab.com/

    6. Open you broken_crescent folder (inside the mod folder) , use medieval2_broken_crescent.bat file to run the mod
    * Alternatively you can create short-cut to desktop for easier access.



    7. Enjoy the mod.


    Disclaimer:

    Released with consent of Miraj and the BC team. There are no changes (AFAIK) to the core BC mod. The changes are those related to make BC 1.05 playable with the latest (and final) kingdoms patch. It is not tested with unpatched Kingdoms (v1.4) so I cannot guarantee that it'll work as intended. I have use the European version (not the Gold version) of M2TW/Kingdoms and have not tested on other version. It may (with tweaks) or may not work with Steam or other downloadable version.

    Besides the BC mod itself, I have use other works in this compilation (to speed things up rather than manually creating/modding) either in parts or in whole by myself.

    Minor fixes for BC 1.05 combined by Bernem

    Kingdoms Barebones Mod Folder by GrnEyedDvl

    Custom Campaign Mod 2 by Unspoken Knight

    Stone Fort fix (for BC Kingdoms) by kepper

    Wall fix (for BC Kingdoms) by impi07

    For any bugs encountered, please check with reported bugs here in case it's already reported. I have not extensively play/tested this conversion yet so there might be new bugs introduce unintentionally. Please post bugs here instead of in the official BC bugs report.

    Nice, thx. Is the campaign AI fix which deals with the sometimes inactive AI armies integrated or do I have to apply it manually?

    No, this fix was released by GrandViz a few days ago.

    Unfortunately the Kingdoms mod doesn't work with my installation. I can see the Broken Crescent screen a few seconds then it crashes to desktop

    If you follow the instruction accordingly then it should work.

    It my, it just crash for the desktop, after star loading, i donīt get any message

    Strange.. Maybe there are files that I forgot to add.

    Anyway, are here anyone manage to load the mod ?

    To recap, this is what need to be done.

    1. Install M2TW & Kingdoms expansion

    2. Patch to 1.5 (kingdoms).

    3. Install BC 1.0 & BC 1.05 (normally).

    4. Copy broken_crescent folder (which contains data folder etc) into the mods folder.

    5. Use my files to overwrite the broken_crescent files inside the mods folder.

    6. Use the included .bat file to run the mod (not BC shortcut).

    I have uploaded an update of the files. There are some files missing. Use the link at the first post.

    Anyway, here's what you'll find if the installation is successful (hope I didn't miss anything ).

    1. After the introduction loading screen, click option and you'll see Ver. 1.05 written there on the top-right hand of the screen. This is Kingdoms version 1.05, not BC v1.05


    2. When you choose the Grand Campaign, you can see the option to hide the campaign map at the bottom right of the screen.


    3. When campaign starts, you can see the small campaign map is blackened (as in Americas campaign) and you have both the turn number and the year previewed on the UI screen.


    That's all for now. If it's still complicated for manual installation, mabe later on I'll upload the whole thing with auto installer, provided permission are given by the BC team.

    My screen does not have the text to hide the campaign map. Its there but no text. (I couldn't upload pix as i don't know how to capture it)

    -Plus when I use the Kingdom of Jerusalem Faction There is a cross bearer unit in my capitol and it says on the unit card: "Unlocalized Placement Text".
    Anytime it is used the game CTDs.

    For the next version increase the size of the troops to 250, and add permanent Fortes.

    Permanent fort is possible, but increasing unit sizes feels like 'modding' the mod which I do not intent to do.

    That's why I set recruitment priority offset in EDU to 0 (anyone can set the value themselves).

    There are still few features is missing. I found the images for reinforcement is a bit corrupt. Maybe I'll update in a few days time.

    Anyway, our other 'project' is still ongoing, albeit slowly.
