    Default Authority: the math?

I discovered wild inconsistencies between the displayed Authority value and the value that SHOULD be displayed if according to the traits and ancileries.
If have checked the traits in the txt file, so its not a lokalisation error.

Two examples (the names are translations from my german version, so the might not match the original names):
Pascal is "very pragmatic" (+3 A) and Faction Leader (+2 A)
His Authority value should be 5, but is 3

Triadano cant see blood (-2 A), but has scars (+1 A) and is Faction Leader (+2 A)
His A value should be 1, but is 2

How exactly is the Authority value determined? From those examples it looks like the engine just take the highest value and ignores everything else, but I have seen Leaders with less the 2 A.

Another theory: Authority (end value) = Authority + Loyalty + Chivalry
Well, it would fit for the example of Triadano, but it its most likely just coincidence. Nevertheless I somehow suspect that other attributes factor in for the determination of the Authority value.

There positive as well as negative traits. Go through the whole lot of it and you will see that Pascal has some of the negative traits as well.

No, he hasnt. Trust me, I have checked every trait he had (he died, Triadano is his successor) in the export_descr_traits. There were no other effect on authority.

You cant have checked the traits marked hidden, because you dont know that he has them. The only true test is to comment out the hidden line from every trait in the game.

I've had trouble with this too. Every time I give a trait which confers negative authority to the factionleader, his authority jumps to ten.

Well they exist because some traits you might not want to show in game, but you might want to be able to trigger other things off them. For instance I use a hidden trait to change movement in winter.
