Default Your Best General (Not traits/stats, but records)

    First of all, Hello!

Second, as said in the title, the point of this thread is to state your single best general. But not by stats, as is normally accepted, but by his record. His history of victories, losses, humiliatingly pathetic defeats, etc.

My greatest Emperor Matthias the Chivalrous of the HRE. He led an army of Mounted Imperial Knights, backed up by Reiters, and was followed by two of his sons, each with a retinue of Infantry to back up his cavalry. He was personally responsible for defeating Spain and France, and with an army of 400 Dismounted Feudal Knights, and 200 Imperial Knights, stood atop the hill by Jerusalem, and fended off four stacks of Mongols for 5 turns in a row. The reinforcements of Knights Templar arrived, with the main force only a single turn behind. With a group of half his original number, and 500 Templars he fought the Mongols a final time, slaying the Khan in one-on-one combat. However, during the fight the Prince killed him.

Though I was sad, his grandson Heinrich beat them, the Mongols, and the Pope, so his legacy lived on.

How do you think I felt? The battle lasted an hour. 40 minutes of that I was paused, trying to make sense of what had taken place during the lag-fest.

Prince Rodrigo of Spain, the guy you have when you first start a campaign. Well, turn 2 i've built some roads and have Alfonso and my entire amry marching on Portugal's capital when some crossbowmen spawn outside Rodrigo's city. Seeing this as a chance to make Rodrigo man up a bit, I send him in. Battle commences, he charges.

    He dies.

The crown prince and heir to all of Spain was my first casualty, brought down by the limp corpse of a slain rebel farmer touting a cheap crossbow. He did that thing where cavalry charge infantry and a few guys fly off their horses. Rodrigo was the only one. The rest of the rebels were killed or captured by the remaining bodyguards, probably pretty pissed off that they had been assigned to such a pathetic employer.

And that was the most epic defeat i've ever had.

That would have drove me mad to the point of being tempted to throw the computer out the window.

I don't really have a sole general who is great, but more of a group of generals leading taskforces like 4 armored swordsmen and 4 yeomen is my current one. Well my faction heir, whatever his name is, took out all of spain, france, portugal and the moors. Under his command I would say. He is king now and my crappy faction heir who has 2 loyalty is going to have an acciedent at sea. Or maybe Ill just just let that jerkhead rebel, he is already ruined at a young age.

Alcoholic? I had a general once (can't remember his name, he was from France), but I gave him an army, set them out to defeat an army of spain, and I started the battle. I sent him to the flanks of the army (it only consisted of some infantry and archers) and he was instantly killed by some arrows...

My most favorite, though not best, was Rufus the Mad. He had every trait to due with insanity at its highest level. (Not cheated for, either). Despite this, he had 8 Command, 5 Chivalry, and 10 Loyalty. But most importantly, he had zero piety. I decided he would lead my next warhost out of Wunderbar (HRE-conquered Sicily)

In his first battle, the men were set up so the men were in front of the artillery, ready to take it from the enemy hard and fast. As the enemy drew near, he ordered his cannons to fire right as the enemy collided with my infantry. I freaked, and tried to stop them, but it was too late. However, right as they fired, my infantry all routed, and the artillery blew away the enemy general and over 50 of his men. Rufus rallied the routing infantry, and won a heroic victory.

Also, Matthias is now the late Matthias by 20 years. But on the bright side, he has a new grandson named Sigismund! He shall be my new Emperor, I just know it!

In my English Campaign. First would have to be Hubert Gilforde, Or as he became known as, Hubert the Scarred. Due to sending him in dozens of battles he has become a five star general who can take -tons- upon tons of hits, And his bodyguard unit consists of Eight men, From twenty when he first was adopted. His main achievements have been conquering the Scottish, And the Rebel City of Dublin. Then making his way into the Itilian Peninsula, Slaying the Pope and besieging rome, conquering it. Then holding back a triple-assault from Milan, Venice and the HRE. Mind you, this is a full stack each, Thousands upon THousands of men to take the city. If you've seen the Kingdom of Heaven, thats what happened>_> With only three units of Dismounted English Knights, Two units of Armoured Swordsmen and 5 units of Sherwood Archers, they managed to hold back the onslaught of three siege towers, and many ladders. They lost the walls, But in the end, with him rallying the remaining troops [[ 89 percent of his men killed, 70 percent of thiers killed ]] they held them back, leaving only a small percentage of his English Knights and Swordsmen left. After bringing two of my rookie-generals to rome along with a half a stack of Elite's, I refuiled Hubert's unit with Mercenaries, And made a fort, Fresh Dismounted English Knights and Sherwood Archers, Along with a full stack of ships to take them, They were sent into the holy lands, And inevitably conquered Jerusaleum after 10 turns. Then afterwards, Took Damascus, Gaza, Jedda, And Bagdad, Yet lost Gaza due to rioting. Now Hubert's task at the moment is to eliminate the rest of the Egyptian armies in his lands [ About 4 or 5 with half a stack in each ], And conquer their kingdom. He's like, almost full in dread, Command is full, Piety, zero. Loyalty, full .
