Whats your strategy
do you have any standerd strategys for the campaign map if yu are starting the war, and if you have more than one how do you choice which one to do at any given war?
i have 3
1. pre-emptive strike - in which it build up armys about half the amount of settlements the enemy so if they have 10 settlements i build atlest 5 armys and give each artillary place each to there desinaterd targets ask the faction for money, settlements anything to decrease relationships as i want them to declare war on me and when they do i strike.(i do this if the enemy is stronger but poorer)
2. Take and talk - i declare war take 1 or 2 settlements and then ingage the faction in deplomicy and hope they accept a cesefire. (i do this when i'm weaker but richer)
3. Grindding - which is a long drawn out war, which is a last resort and try to get out of as quickly as posible(i do this if they declare war on me and we are equal in money and power)
What do you do?

Re: Whats your strategy
I don't start wars, I wait to start war against me and while I'm waiting- I'm making the strnongest army possible. And when AI attacks me- I fight 'till my enemy is destroyed, so if AI attacks me- there is no peace

Re: Whats your strategy
@ Above me, Yes is a very good descision to wait for the AI. I usually don't start wars because it gives a bad reputation. You should support other factions with wars.
Some strategies of my:
1. Blitzkrieg - Build up a few strong army's with artillery and small army's with militia units. Then take their settlements very quickly and place your millitia units in the settlement you just conquered so your strong army can continue. It is wise to begin with the most important settlements of the enemy.
2. If an enemy declares war on you and he is at the same strenght of you. Then you will probarly have to fight a long war. What you then should do is take op positions near mountains and over bridges. If the enemy attacks you you can defeat them easily. Then quickly attack a nearby settlement that is mostly weaker because there's not much of an army in it.
3. If there is an army of the enemy near a settlement, then attack that army. The army from the city will come in the battle as reinforcements. If you have cavalry run down all of the routing units. Excecute them after the battle. Now there will be no more units in the nearby settlement. You can take it inmidiatly.
4. Suppres the enemy with much army's if they are as strong as you. Pillage their lands if there is a too high garrison in the nearby enemy settlement or siege the settlement for a long time.

Re: Whats your strategy
I do not think i have a set strat. Most of the time i just try to take the settlements, and i dont care if i have bad rep ;p more wars means more land =D. If im going to start a war i try to get a fulll stack of wwhat ever i can throw in and go picking up mercs on the way. Sometimes i will take a general and start moving to a settlement just picking mercs up on the way hoping he doesnt get mobbed. I dont underestmate my small armies, ive managed to win against crazy odds. So thats pretty much what i do, also i like to take advantage of sea, the extra move speed is amazing and you can get the boony cities that they dont have gaurded very well so you dont have to take your main force outta of the way to get it, for example taking stockholm and oslo so i dont have to go past arhus with my main force!

Re: Whats your strategy
My strategy involves slow expansion and building up. For example, in my Sicily game I am at turn 100 and I only have Palermo, Naples, Tunis, Algiers, Milan and Cagliari.. That's because I like to have well developed armies. For example, I might hold off conquering something just so my army can get it's complement of Norman Knights.

Re: Whats your strategy
1) Someone attacks you or you are attacking them
2) Take a couple of settlements, defeat some armies
3) Offer peace while demanding a settlement or two
