IT depends are the Illryrians going to get more Illyrian units? I mean native ones or are they just going to stay the same.

As I haven't played as the Illryrians in a long while, I don't suppose i'll play with them any time soon. Also if Galatia is going to be made a horde faction, it would be nice to see another faction in Asian Minor.

Illyrians won't be getting any unit upgrades. I don't think there are any other appropriate units for them.

Well, as a newbie i can´t vote, but can still make a statement.

I think, if there are gonna be Cisalpine Gauls, then Illyrians would just stay in the way of the natural expansion Areas of the CGauls. And then, the CGauls will have go allways against the romans or maybe even against the Transalpine Gauls.

The power vacuum, without Illyrians and without any other faction like CGauls, would make it very easy for the major Powers to expand ( romans, macs. )

I would vote for CGauls + Pergamon, while the TGauls perhaps should be focusing on Britain via pref. naval invations ( kind of winning condition for them? ) and the CGauls should terrify Romans ( in they weaker phase - plundering Rome maybe? ) and tending to go to balkans.

But, what is really bothering me is: the Galatians are actually a celtic/gaulish tribe, so would it not be logical, to let them horde in Cisalpin Area, moving towards a) Romans, to plunder their Capital, and b) the major power of them would go for northern Greece, nerfing the macs?

I mean, the Galatians, as far as i could se, are quite powerfull Tribe, so...wouldn´t they pose a heavier threat either for Romans and Macedonians?

Having Galatians starting ( as a Horde ) in Cisalpine Area, you wouldn´t need CGauls at all, and could keep Illyrians for instance. Galatians ( which do a job of CGauls, would be Allys of Illyrians, including military access, marching strait toward Rome City AND Macedonians. ( an if you spare Illyrians complete, you might now use their slot for spawning CGauls - the BI feature i mentiond in another posting - if Galatians have been destroyed. You could also spawn the Illyrians by that time perhaps? ).

Well I saw and XGM and now I got an idea why not make provincial campaigns for the smaller factions. Like Illyria and pergamum, so we have the chouce. The same with the Britons and the Gauls.

After my disastrous attempt to migrate to Crete with the Illyrians (my navy got sunk by pirates when I was just about to land my troops) I really don't want to play as them. I think Pergumum would would make a better, more important, faction. Perhaps Illyria can be filled with rebel zombies.

i think the ilyrians was only pirates.After the first punic war they started to mind the romans with they trade and they attack them and ilyria ceased to exist in 219bc so that was a short period from 280bc but if you would remove they rebels will have to strong garisons because the romans and macedon very quickly expand here

I second that. Big & immovable garrisons with exp 9 soldiers plus high recovery trait (important!) would be much more difficult to take than a small faction like Illyrians.

From what I read about Illyria, we already have their core units covered. There isn't all that much to work with for them. That's one of the reasons why Illyria wound up on the chopping block.

i voted illyrians, although they need to be beefed up. a power vacuum in that area i think would prove catastrophic for game balance.

Well I personally go for the provincial campaign, where we can choose a set of mini factions. It is the descion of the creatros.

Illyria should be chopped, they can be replaced by rebels, and most of their units can should be chopped up to save for a more important faction, like pergamum. Perhaps Numidia should suffer the same fate, and be turned into a sicily faction, because sicily and the greek cities were not the best of friends i think during this time, or just sicily as rebels.

From what I've been reading, Sicily and the Greeks is a very complicated issue in any time period. There is a mother/daughter relationship between various Greek mainland poleis and the colonies in Sicily and elsewhere. Like most (all?) factions in RTR and ExRM, Greece is definitely not a centrally controlled nation in the way we think of a nation.
